I'm going to try to post about 2 songs each day. These are my 50 all time favorite metal songs as of right now.

#50. Anthrax- Indians

I'm 21 now and I started listening to metal when I was about 9 years old. I first got into thrash, mainly the big 4. Anthrax is my second favorite of the big 4 behind Metallica and Among the Living is one of the best thrash albums in my opinion. This is my favorite track off of that album. It has a great verse riff and a heavy metal section. And who doesn't headbang when Scott Ian screams WAR DANCE!!!!!!

#49. Shadows Fall- Eternity is Within

The War Within by Shadows Fall is one of the best albums of the 2000's. Every song is a monster. Eternity is Within just has this drive to it that makes you want to mosh until you pass out. Just a brutal song.

Great song:rocker:

If you see Anthrax live and you don't immediately start headbanging or moving in some way after Scott screams "WARDANCE!!!" you should be thrown out of the venue and denied access to any further Anthrax shows for the rest of your life:blaze:

I just wish Belladonna wasn't such a horrible vocalist, because that riff is so thrashtastic.

#48. Hatebreed- Smash Your Enemies

What a great live song. I've seen them play this live twice and the crowd went insane. When Jasta screams PICK IT UP at the end when the double time comes in, its brutal.

#47. Soilwork- Nerve

Stabbing the Drama is one of my favorite albums. Every song is a classic. Nerve is everything I like about Soilwork. Great choruses, sick riffs, and amazing drumming.

#46. Pantera- Heresy

This song includes some of Dime's best riffs. Just a straight up metal song that kicks your ass.

#45. Slipknot- The Heretic Anthem

If you've never heard Slipknot before, this is the perfect song to get you hooked. One of my favorite metal riffs, an anthem chorus, and a great live song. Incredible drumming by Jordison too.

One of the best mosh parts in any song (the end of Smash Your Enemies)

#44. Killswitch Engage- My Last Serenade

Jesse Leach is one of my favorite singers of all time. My Last Serenade showcases his screaming voice and clean voice perfectly. If you don't have Alive or Just Breathing, get it. An essential piece to a metal collection.

#43. God Forbid- Empire of the Gun

This band should be bigger in my opinion. They have put out several very solid albums. I'm looking forward to their new cd coming out next year.

#42. Fear Factory- Digimortal

Fear Factory is one of my favorite bands. Some people dismiss the album Digimortal and say it's not good, but I disagree. It keeps that unique industrial sound that Fear Factory uses. Digimortal showcases some great riffs by Dino, amazing drumming by Herrera, and great vocals by Burton (one of my favorite singers). A perfect Fear Factory chorus- the melodic creepy clean vocals that accent the futuristic music style perfectly. Burton's screams from 2:02-2:10 are sinister.

#41. All That Remains- It Dwells Me In

If you haven't heard The Fall of Ideals by All That Remains, listen to it now. One of the essential metal albums of the 2000's in my opinion. This song captures the TRUE All That Remains sound perfectly, not their new radio friendly sound. The song kicks off with a bang and has a great chorus. Heavy chugging riffs throughout. Listen to 1:55-2:15 if you haven't heard this song.

$40. Black Label Society- Demise of Sanity

Black Label Society is a great straight in your face metal band. This song is simplistic but is a great formulaic metal song. It has a simple structure but a kick ass verse riff, sick chorus, and a typical amazing Zakk solo. When I saw them live in Chicago with All That Remains a few months ago they played this song, and it produced several pits.

Invisible Wounds on that cd is one of my favorite FF songs and I prefer their heavier stuff usually. Digimortal is def Top 3 off that cd for me too.

#39. Rob Zombie- Scum of the Earth

This song has such a groove to it. It is 100% better live. They never really played it live before but have been playing it at every show over the past year and a half. It is way heavier. I saw Zombie 3 times in the past year and a half, and this song stole the show each time. If you haven't seen Zombie live, put it on your list. Even if you don't like his music it is one hell of a show.

#38. Slayer- Seasons in the Abyss

Seasons in the Abyss is my favorite Slayer album. I love the song because it has that long creepy intro and has more of a slower groove type verse riff. The solo is an actual solo too, not just a usual nonsense Slayer solo.

#36. Killswitch Engage- My Last Serenade

Jesse Leach is one of my favorite singers. This song showcases his great screams and incredible clean voice. A lot of great chunky riffs in this song. If you haven't heard Adam and Jesse's new band Times of Grace, buy the album today. It's great. It captures some of the brilliance and creativity of Alive or Just Breathing.

#35. Hatebreed- Not My Master

I love the newest Hatebreed album. I wish they'd play more of it live. Especially this song. I think it would be one of their heaviest songs during the set. Such a great ending, just brutal.

#34. Five Finger Death Punch- White Knucles

I know there has been a lot of bashing of these guys on this website lately but I am a huge fan of their debut album The Way of the Fist. This is my favorite song off of that album. I saw them live on the first Mayhem tour when they weren't popular and this song created the biggest pits, especially the breakdown in the middle. One of the craziest shows I've been to. If they kept making albums like The Way of the Fist, I bet people wouldn't bash them nearly as much.
