Live album/DVD?

Considering the 'memories' part of the title, it could be an unreleased and rarities collection?

Most likely the orchestral album they've been working on for awhile.

Id say its the orchestra album or live dvd. Either way the news makes me excited. I want another U.S tour. Seeing my favorite band only once isn't enough. I've been reading some info about new demons and wizards \m/

With it saying "memories" maybe it's implying a greatest hits album. Just a guess though.

a live dvd makes sense.

a greatest hits with some new tracks seems likely.

same with a rarities with new songs seems possible

Yeah, most likely a Live DVD/Greatest Hits package or the orchestral album.

Memories of a time to come. This may be wishful thinking but time to come could also imply something about making memories. Which could imply a tour. But thats really going out on a limb.

If it's a tour then it could be a 20 year celebration of Somewhere Far Beyond, with them playing it all the way through live!

Now THAT'S some wishful thinking! :snivel:

That would be incredible. I saw them last year and they were amazing. Im really hoping for a new tour. A greatest hits type of tour would be cool maybe like 2 or 3 songs off each album would be amazing. Obviously play songs like The Bards song and Valhalla but mix it in with some more rare live songs.

I feel like BG doesn't play long enough to do 2-3 songs per album live. Especially if they were to do ATTWS and other lengthy songs.

They should do an evening with BG tour.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I hope so, I'm really, really intrigued by the possibilities of this.

Having heard some of their "orchestral version" b-sides, I've got to be honest and say I'm not that interested. Unless they really step up the worth of the orchestral parts without just making all the songs soft.

Please let this be another NA tour! I'm sure I read that their orchestral project won't be out until 2013 and I really don't want to wait that long to see them again.

Having heard the songs on "At the Edge of Time" (Sacred Worlds, Wheel of Time) that were done with full orchestration, I am really optimistic about the prospect.

Looks like it's been confirmed as a best of: http://forum.blind-guardian.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=40492

True, those were better.

Well, unless they record some new songs for it, or make one of the discs rarities, b-sides or a live CD, this is 100% lame.

This. Hopefully they'll at least tour for it.

So, they're pretty much doing the same thing that Scorpions did on Comeblack. I sure hope they at least tour the USA for this!

I am curious as to why some of these songs are NEVER played live (besides the Live DVD) yet they consider it their definitive music. These songs being SFB, Last Candle and Follow the Blind

I'm pretty excited for this. Basically because I think their last couple albums are great, but I'm not familiar with their older material whatsoever.

Somewhere Far Beyond and The Last Candle are on the live DVD, but yeah, I don't think they've ever been played much beyond that besides in the early days.

I may end up buying this. Blind Guardian are one of the few bands that could sucker me into buying a compilation in the first place, and if there's gonna be some rare stuff, re-recordings, and re-mixes, I could see myself shelling out the cash, especially if the packing is nice and the booklet has some cool liner notes in it.

Things you need to do:
1) Acquire Imaginations From the Other Side.
2) Listen to it.
3) Repeat indefinitely.
