I guess I'll post it here too. Ridiculously bad timing:

Haha, ouch.

Serious bummer, though. Dude was a visionary, and no matter what you thought of him or Apple, 56 is way too young and pancreatic cancer is a motherfucker :(

Considering I never leave the house without my iPod, I definitely owe this dude a debt of gratitude. R.I.P

He was great man that changed the way I listen to music. I never thought I would use a iPod but once I got it at I became addicted. RIP.

Yeah, I definitely use Apple products a lot, and I've always found them to be reliable and useful. I'm typing on one write now, as a matter of fact. R.I.P. Mr. Jobs. 56 is certainly far too young to die.

Eh, I really like my iPod, and I learned to not hate iMacs. I don't know much about the guy, certainly don't view him as some innovative genius, but he certainly does command respect. R.I.P.

RIP to one of the most visionary technological minds of our time. Not a fan of Macs but I definitely respect what he has done in his career (and the ipod)

I really do love my ipod. The two that I've had have lasted me for nearly 7 years too. It's a shame that he died so young.

Damn, didn't hear about this until this morning. Had no idea he was even ill. And way too young.

I'm with Cameron. Yeah Apple basically led the portable mp3 player revolution, but they ruined music collecting and managed to create the biggest elitist clique in the world without actually making the best products on the market. The fact that most people think "iPod" is what any portable mp3 player is called and don't even realise there are others is at once sad, and one of Apple's biggest achievements.

The dude achieved a hell of a lot in a short space of time, though. Certainly one of the most important technology CEOs of this generation.

This is exactly how I feel. I want people to know that I don't really have anything against Jobs, nor am I trying to be an asshole in the event of his death. But I hate Apple, and have for a long time now, in part because of everything you just said. The fact that this had to come on the same day that Microsoft discontinued Zune is just a massive blow to me.

I don't hate Apple, I hate people for falling for it ;)

I've always been a PC guy. However, I have to give credit that Apple certainly has made some good contributions to technology. Jobs came up for some great ideas and was a excellent business man. RIP

Lets be real dude, it's been a long time coming. That shit was set to fail from day one. And I say that as a Zune user.

I've always hated Mac computers, thought them backwards, inefficient, and overpriced... but I've always loved the fuck outta my iPods and iPhones, no matter how much they break on me.

Speaking as a part time home producer, the technology that Apple spearheaded in terms of multimedia creation and editing is unrivaled. I use a Windows laptop at home with Reaper recording software and a Pod 2.0 for my recording, with a few bells and whistles, but I do most of my editing and mastering on my sisters iMac, which comes built in with a basic version of Pro-Tools.

I like iTunes, but I LOVE my iPod, never leave home without it, and genuinely, it hasn't failed me or anyone else I know who owns one anymore than any other brand of portable player.
