Ok, so I'm definitely going to Crowbar tonight! I'm going to work on some Differential Equations homework for a bit, then head out in two hours. :D

How far did you go in math back in the day? How long ago did you stop doing it?

I stopped doing it specifically at 18. I did Computer Science at university, so it was still a part of that, but not a huge part.

Yeah it was. It was in late January and February. I saw them up in Milwaukee with COB, Revocation and Threat Signal.

It was! It was actually an extensive tour of the states at the beginning of this year.

Children of Bodom

Revocation
Threat Signal

How far did you go in math back in the day? How long ago did you stop doing it?I took two full years of engineering calculus in college (and used it often in many of my other classes), graduated in 1993 still having a pretty decent grasp on most of it, and within five years I probably forgot almost everything except the basics.

That's professional life for ya.

Amen. I can barely remember much of it at all except the basics.

Cannibal Corpse were alright. Somewhat fun. Exhumed weren't bad either, but definitely not an amazing live band either. Figures, everyone else feels differently :( Absymal Dawn were damn solid. They've improved since the last time I saw them, too. Arkaik were incredibly mediocre and generic.

Arkaik were incredibly mediocre and generic.

Well, we agree on that much! Arkaik is part of the current wave of technical bands from California, very few of which are worth anything.

Exhumed being a fantastic live band is not an opinion, thought. It's truth.

larvtard
04-12-2012, 11:31 PM
Maybe I was a little harsh. Exhumed seemed very energetic and all, I just thought the sound sucked so none of the bands were very good to me.

Yeah, I probably should've just said that at the beginning

What's giving you Chevelle?

ravenheart
04-17-2012, 12:13 PM
So:

43 KoRn
44 Talking Heads
45 Cowboy Junkies

Still need:

the painting in the window
the three skipping girls
the contortionists
the mailman
the thing in the drain by the dinosaur
the needles next to the 20
the sweets above that
the guys with the surf boards (some said Beach Boys maybe?)
the choir dressed in white
the yellow guy
the manikin in the window?
the girl with the bubblegum
the tree on the hill?
the guys on the roof
the party in the window
the blue wall at the back
the box of something or other in front of the fruit stand
the necklace in front of the fruit stand
the leaves in the bottom-left

That would make 64, so there's 11 more on top of that.

Natrlhi

The left hand side was missing from the one we were using, which gives us:

46 Pet Shop Boys
47 Scorpions

And being able to zoom in properly on that box in front of the fruit stand gives us:

48 The Cranberries

So of course, I've been obsessing about this since I left work. Here's what I came up with:
Still need:

the painting in the window Madonna
the three skipping girls The Go-Go's
the contortionists Twisted Sister
the mailman Postal Service???
the thing in the drain by the dinosaur The Roots / The Vines
the needles next to the 20 Nine Inch Nails
the sweets above that Eminem
the guys with the surf boards (some said Beach Boys maybe?)
the choir dressed in white The Cult? Manic Street Preachers?
the yellow guy Yellowman (or what about Goldie?)
the manikin in the window? ???
the girl with the bubblegum Blondie
the tree on the hill? Bush? Screaming Trees? Cypress Hill?
the guys on the roof The Carpenters
the party in the window Crowded House (could also be Bloc Party?)
the blue wall at the back Deep Purple
the box of something or other in front of the fruit stand was this The Cranberries, or something else?
the necklace in front of the fruit stand Jewel?
the leaves in the bottom-left ???
Where does that leave us? Anybody care to compile the results from the last few pages? I'll bet we're damn close...

White Stripes (the crosswalk, or "zebra crossing" as you Brits call it)

...and my favorite:

Not only are there two Cowboy Junkies, but the tiger-striped babe is obviously Jane, who is feeding her...Addiction?

So, we've all been wondering, why no Kreator/Destruction/Sodom touring?

The answer? Tom. Apparently he hates being away from home for longer than three weeks at a time and if they were to do a tour like that it would need to be longer than that.

So there you go.

Origin were awesome! So were the Cattle Decapitation, Decrepit Birth (although technical difficulties made them only play 3 songs), and Aborted. Every other band was boring and/or terrible. Especially Rings of Saturn and Battlecross. Rings of Saturn was worth watching because their music is so bad it was entertaining, and to see kalfitegrdan and our friend take out hardcore dancers left and right. But Battlecross... god damn that was just pathetic.

I'd post a review but I don't have sets for the bands. But that's just a brief summary. All in all, an awesome show and night.

All in all, an awesome show and night.

that really sucks that Cattle only played three songs :(

Nah, Cattle had their regular set time. It was Decrepit Birth that played 3 songs. Metatron, Symbiosis and a cover of Death's Crystal Mountain.

woops haha I must have read that too fast. That sucks about DB then  that's also really lame they would play a cover during a three song set.

Three song set and they decided to still play a cover? :hecho:

Jamming with some Brutal Death musicians today. Interesting to see how this will work as this is usually not my main trait. Skipping on my Senior Prom in the process..

The only way I could possibly defend this is that it's a fun thing they've been doing to close their sets for this tour only. I'd rather see them do that instead of a song they'll play any other time

Working on the list for my top black metal albums. Don't know how long it'll be til I start it but it's in progress.

I support this 100%. Your last two lists were a great read, I'm looking forward to the list. Hope you dish it out sooner than later my man. :fist: :rocker:

OH SHIT, WTF! Have fun man. I saw Autopsy with Incantation three months ago, Christopher and treghet were also at that show a swell. As far as i'm concerned, AUTOPSY is the best band that i have seen so far this year. Bone crushingly heavy and evil as fuck. Easily the most evil band that i have ever seen in concert. Chris's voice is just plain UNREAL...thats the only way i can describe it. I hope you have a great time, and be sure to leave a review for the brothers!!! :rocker:

Will do! And I know daimonos is going for sure. Plus the support is honestly the best Chicago has to offer. Cianide, Cardiac Arrest, Bones, and Reign Inferno. This is going to be the #1 show of the year (aside from MDF), no doubt about it.

I'll be looking forward to your review too. That's a great lineup and I have to agree with Sepulwizard, Autopsy is definitely the best band I've seen so far this year.

Been relaxing all day. Work tonight. Sore from The Rumble yesterday with JD. My wrist is pretty brusied and somewhat swollen but my legs hurt from standing up for pretty much 11 hours straight with only shorts breaks of sitting down. Insane time though. Review to come tomorrow.

fuck year! where are you staying?

We stayed at Bill's Gamblin Hall. Small place but it wasn't bad at all. And since it's smaller they'll hook you up with the drinks a lot more frequently than the bigger casinos. And the room was nice.

I ended up coming home up 200 dollars. I was down but then I won 400 dollars on a hand of three card poker last night.

Definitely planning on it. I have no clue if he has a backing band or just playing acoustic.

He might be just playing acoustic, as the venue he is playing is the smallest music venue I know of in the Twin Cities.

I didn't think I would get the chance to see Dax in any capacity live, so I'm happy as well. Say Goodnight To The World was a fantastic album.

When I saw him in 08, it was just him and a drummer for half of the set, then the second half was acoustic. SGTTW was awesome.

I probably had the nerdiest Saturday night ever. Me, my roommate and two of our friends set up four TVs and XBOXs in our living room and ended up playing Mass Effect 3 together for about fourteen hours straight.

Other than that, the Origin concert on Friday was fucking killer as GarageMetal said. :rocker: I thought Aborted was the best band of the night. Bill from Decrepit Birth is officially one of the craziest frontmen in metal. He stage dove twice for DB's set and the first time he pretty much landed on his face and then got up and started a pretty big circle pit. Then, during Origin's set, I look at the pit for a second and turn back towards the stage just as Bill stage dives again and lands right at my feet. Also, the vocalist from Kataklysm was there and my friend got to show him his Kataklysm tattoo, which was pretty awesome.

Recovering from the Nocturnal festival on Saturday and Behemoth/Watain/TDB last night. Arms, legs and feet sore from dancing 'til 4am Saturday. Neck sore from headbanging last night.

I saw at least three glowstringing kids with terrible deathcore shirts at Nocturnal, which I always find amusing.

I just picked up my dog from the vet. A rattlesnake bit her yesterday while I was at school. My mom rushed her to the emergency animal clinic to get her an antivenom shot. I was really worried I was going to lose her, so last night really sucked. I'm glad she's healing up really fast, especially for being an old dog.

There were some riots here in Seattle last night!
I wasn't too aware of it being all that bad, maybe just a small group walking from one point to another causing a lot of noise, but seeing pictures of it this morning... WOW. Some people broke out windows in stores, looks like Molotov's were thrown, GAW DAMN!
