I just got home from Autopsy. They were pretty cool but not that great in my opinion. I know true Autopsy fans loved it, but I wasn't all about it.

I can't wait for tomorrow!!! Around 2pm, I'm going to go and pick my friend up and head to downtown LA. Public Enemy is supposed to play a free show, but it looks like there is a lot of drama involved with the police. The cops say PE doesn't have the proper permits, but PE says they do and will perform no matter what. I have a feeling the show will get shut down and a riot will start. Can't wait to see what happens haha:fingers:

In Flames and Trivium were awesome last night. Veil of Maya were good but typical hardcore technical wigger mosh. Kyng were really great and hope to see them do a headliner soon. Sets were the same as the last couple dates. Also i will never deal with 24-7 Entertainment again. Came close to not being able to get my tickets.

I was expecting the talking sections to be so much more nerve racking, but just reading off the songs and station ID actually takes up a bit of time.

When you do it right, sometimes that's all you need. With my show I love talking about the bands I play so I always add a little bit to it. But then again with my show I can have more of leeway. 10 songs roughly an hour, and I almost always go past an hour with all the my own created commercials, station IDs from bands, and when i talk that I add and stuff like that. SO I just make sure I have 50 something minutes of music and fill in the rest.

It becomes a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.

Same here. In other words "the only thing that matters to the majority of the fanbase"

I mean, I really have no problem with people liking/listening to dubstep. I really don't, everyone has their own taste, many people think Metal is a bunch of garbage and can't see how I can like a bunch of "Vikings that give you headaches".

But what I find distasteful is the way dubstep fans refer and describe their music. I rarely ever have heard a dubstep fan describe their music without using words like "dirty", "filthy drop", "robots having sexual orgasms", "music that chicks can grind to", "so much better to listen to while high". There are some people who seriously like dubstep how it is, but it seems like most their fans are just trying to, well, "be a cool bro".

I don't know exactly where I'm going here, since you can't judge the actual music based on their fans. But I just find many dubstep fans to be annoying, sorry.

Bunch of dudes across from us at Graspop last year were listening to dubstep every night, the shitty kind. Didn't bother us too much, being surrounded by metal all day, I can understand someone listening to something different when partying at night, but the quote from one of them on the last morning was brilliant. He asked us for some of our water as they had been heavily drinking, we had no problem with it, he then asked if we liked dubstep, to which we politely said 'not our thing', and he said 'its great music.. you just imagine every woman is your girlfriend'. It was the best summation of dubsteps current fanbase, and how crap the music is, I have ever heard.

I like this paragraph on Google's petition page:

There’s no need to make American social networks, blogs and search engines censor the Internet

Search engines, no. Social networks and blogs, yes. They are INTENTIONALLY not policing content, and they should be.

Google seem a bit desperate to be the white knight for the internet with this when, let's face it, they're not going to fall foul of the new laws anyway.

There's a further bit about creating legislation to cut off the funding for the pirates. Erm, when the pirates are actually mostly common people who use free file sharing sites and free blogging sites to pass the links around, how exactly do you cut off their funding? They don't need any.

And from Wikipedia:

Some supporters of SOPA and PIPA characterize everyone who opposes them as cavalier about copyright, but that is not accurate. Wikipedians are knowledgeable about copyright and vigilant in protecting against violations: Wikipedians spend thousands of hours every week reviewing and removing infringing content. We are careful about it because our mission is to share knowledge freely. To that end, all Wikipedians release their contributions under a free license, and all the material we offer is freely licensed. Free licenses are incompatible with copyright infringement, and so infringement is not tolerated.

So your point, Wiki, is that you're against legislation which forces other people to do what you're already doing with your own users/content?

He did it during a legendary performance at Reading and Leeds festival in the UK, soon as the show started he said 'you're going to see alot of shit on stage right now' and shit in a bag and threw it out. The crowd really were not into them, it was 2002 I think!

I'm actually quite sad that Megaupload is gone.

I used that site to send the bands that I was playing my radio show that they were featured on. I never used it to download music. I only used it ever for the reason I just gave. now I'll have to find another way to help the bands I play that can't tune in Tuesday at 9pm Central.

So about 3200/11400 students that applied for UVA's Early Action will get in tomorrow. The average SAT for those accepted was around 1430/1600 and 2110/2400. Granted the average is higher due to out of state applicants, but my scores were 1340/1600 and 2010/2400. I wonder, am I apart of the lucky 3200? Yep, that's about how much it costs where I live, both home and at school.

Anyway, I did throw out my pack last night and day 1 of no smoking had gone well so far with my 3 hour class, no urges whatsoever there... and then I had to drive home in a snow storm that's still going on now. What should've been a 45 minute drive ended up being 2 hours, 30 minutes of it being spent on an exit ramp alone. And just when I think it's all over and I'm finally home, hey, I gotta take my sister to work! So more driving in a snowstorm! Doesn't help that my wipers can't work for shit! Luckily that's all over now... hopefully a bunch of stuff doesn't hit me all at once to make me start up again, that's what happened to my friend not too long ago.

Nah, Brad seems like a man of his word and somebody with will power. Jeff has apparently been saying it for years and Logan, well, has some issues apparently.

To Logan, if you're still reading: Everyone has times of serious self-doubt. Everyone also has a collection of good qualities and bad qualities. Figure out what your good qualities are and build on them. Emphasize them. Also, don't worry about what chicks think of you. You're way too young to be worrying about that shit. I don't really have a problem with HOB. I've seen great shows there and other than how slow they let people in I've never had that big of a problem with them. The sound is usually really good but I hate how random they are with either allowing or not allowing me to film off my phone but other than that I don't see why people wouldn't like them.

The best one I ever saw was for this local Cleveland metalcore band The World We Knew where the front Has their logo and a stormtrooper helmet and the back says this:

The sound is usually really good but I hate how random they are with either allowing or not allowing me to film off my phone but other than that I don't see why people wouldn't like them.

I hate it for a number of reasons....

- The location blows. Smack dab in the middle of downtown. Sure it's a safe area but getting there is a pain in the ass if you don't live in the city. Parking prices are more than excessive and taking the metra can be a pain in the ass sometimes. Myself and a bunch of other people were walking in negative double digit cold from Union station to the HOB about 3 years ago to see Hatebreed/Cannibal Corpse. That SUCKED.

- The curfew. The latest a show can go is 9:30 on weekdays? Really? I understand they live right by residence homes of some sort, but that's a load of crap. It's a music venue where some of the shows booked can be loud. Plus that means the show has to start WAY early, screwing people who get off work/school late from getting there on time.

- No re-entry once you leave. Self-explanatory. You're shit outta luck if you forget even one dollar in your car for merch.

- HOB collects I think 15% of all revenue from band merch, so bands jack up the prices of merch if it's not Summer Slaughter where there are a ton of bands. I think they may have stopped doing that, though.

At least water is free there. And the sound can be really good sometimes. I can see it being a good venue for non metal shows, which is the majority of shows booked there actually. But I, as well as many others, regard it as the worst venue for metal shows.

Yea I agree with the no re-entry thing. That really sucks where they have shows where it's like a headliner with 5 bands or all day fest. Although for Summer Slaughter surprising it never really stank and remained cool all day.

The curfew thing happens at all venues I think. Since most of the shows are all ages they have to end by 9:30 or they could get fined. Am I right? That's what I was told by HOB. Location really isn't a problem for me since there's a blue line stop like 7 minutes from me and once i get downtown I have to walk maybe 3 blocks to get to HOB. Only think I don't like about the place that you didn't mention is the ticket prices.

I mean BTBAM played Mojoes this year for like $10.00 and yet the come and play HOB later that year playing the same amount of songs and tickets are over $30.00. I know it has to do with HOB taxes etc but that is still crazy.

Good points. For me, the location is freakin' ideal, since I live in Lincoln Park, and it takes 15 minutes for me to get to that Lake stop and walk a block over to the venue, rather the 30 or so minutes it takes for me to get to Reggie's or the Bottom Lounge. I also don't mind the curfew too much either since I usually have school the next day, but it does suck when they force bands to get over early because of it. I completely agree on the merch thing, it's way overpriced.

For me, I love the aesthetic of it, the water is free (huge), and you can crowdsurf as much as you want. Those are big plusses. Of course, it would be more ideal to see a metal show at Reggie's or a hardcore show at the Bottom Lounge, but the HoB is god compared to shit like the Congress.

Need to vent. I never do it so deal with it!

Just got a huge lecture about my life in general. Was really told being around me is miserable and how I am by far the worst person they know. Apparently I'm lazy, unmotivated, and have the worst attitude and could care about nothing. Then it was about how I haven't had a job since Nov. when I got fired from my previous one and how that is pathetic. Even though it it quite hard to get a job being 18 and still in school and only wanting to work maybe 3 days or 20 hours a week. Then I got the whole you don't act like a adult thing even though I honestly don't get treated like one. I get questioned every time I even attempt to leave and going to concerts is like near impossible. I mean it's pretty much hey get a job and then you can spend your money yet when I go to spend it everyone is like oh well why waste your money on crap concerts for bands you've seen or something like that. Also I get the whole "your 18 and don't have girlfriend or date". There is something wrong with you. Maybe I don't want to date because money I'd have to spend on a girl I can spend on myself or maybe JUST MAYBE I don't feel like dating until I find someone that isn't going to try to make me stop loving metal and liking rap or someone who won't constantly talk crap about everything I like. One last thing, the girl MUST LIKE MY TATTOO! I'm tired of girls constantly being like "Oh well I don't like it your stupid". People need to leave me do my thing. I like it better that way. Now I know spelling and grammar may not be right but it's a rant so deal with it. Feel free to comment since I still feel odd ranting to you people.

The first part I can relate to. Getting a job now a days that is actually worth getting (being able to pay bills with) is fucking hard to do. But you are still in school, that should be all the reason enough to focus on that first, then get a job when you are done with school, or if you go to college.

The 2nd part. I know all too well. People always think I'm gay because I haven't had a relationship longer then 2 weeks (Only had 2 real relationships, got cheated on both times and broke them off right then and there). It's not for a lack of trying as it is the women around her love country drunken hicks. I'm a Rock/Metal guy. Doesn't work out all that often unless I go after Twin Cities girls.

Although even that sucks, tonight on facebook, a girl told me that the only reason she can't date me is because I'm too young (she's only 3 years older then me, I'm 23).

Case in point for both problems, they will all happen, when they happen. No point in stressing out about it.

Even though it's pretty much a knockoff of the Austin/McMahon feud, the CM Punk/John Laurinitis feud is the smartest thing they've come up with since the Jericho/HBK feud.

Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better about it now. And it might be this, because I might have struggled at UVA due to the highly academic/work nature.

I will say though, that UVA was without a doubt my first choice and I loved the campus; it's a fantastic university and my sincere congratulations to my four classmates and everyone else around the country who got accepted. Good luck to the regular admission candidates; everyone who applied was extremely qualified and the competition was intense this year. If I was to be outclassed at a school; I'm glad it was at one of the best schools in the country. I'll probably be going to JMU or VTech, but UVA will always have a special place in my heart.
