I would daresay that this might be the first truly outstanding album I've listened to this year. It's that good. There are others I've heard that will probably end up in that category eventually, but this one leaps out of the speakers at me on the first listen as being something truly amazing. I just felt like a lot of songs were sub par. Especially the title track. Unity was okay. Enemies was good. But the slower songs didn't hit it with me as they have done on previous albums.

Yeah, I plan on buying one of every CD that HoP is selling tomorrow night (provided they aren't gouging people on prices). Hopefully they have that one. I'm also wondering about their new one, since it comes out next week.

As far as Trees, I didn't know you weren't familiar with them yet. Basically, all three of their albums are pretty much bulletproof. The new one might be their best, though. I was loving it from the first track onward, and by the time it was finished, I was smiling from ear to ear. That hasn't happened to me in quite a while. :rocker:

By the way, those guys just happen to live within about twenty minutes of where I'm sitting right now (I work in a city called Barberton, which is a suburb of Akron, Ohio - which is where they formed the band). I've seen them live three times so far, and they always kill it. Super nice guys, too. Be sure to try to go see them when they go on tour if it comes near you. They generally play with other awesome post-rock bands such as Gifts from Enola.

Well as much as I love post rock, I am a tad picky about instrumental music because it really has to stick with me for me to be able to enjoy it over time. With that said, I'd say ITTCT were one of the finest instrumental bands I've heard and in this case, I'm rather glad they didn't have vocals :lol:

Good to know that you've seen them live and that they're really good. I highly doubt they'll come to Florida :lol: but who knows where I may land up in another three months and so given the chance, I'll be sure to check them out on tour and purchase a shirt or three. :fist:

The Pelican EP is, of course, very good and much too short. Just like the Ephemeral EP, it was a teaser to whet my appetite until the new LP arrived, which is better than nothing I guess. I really like "Lathe Biosas". That track is very infectious.
