Iconoclast
End of Innocence
Dehumanized
Bastards of the Machine
Electric Messiah
When All is Lost
Children of a Faceless God
Heretic
Inferno (Unleash the Fire)
Of Sins and Shadows
---------------------------
Eve of Seduction
Serpent's Kiss
Set the World on Fire (The Lie of Lies)

Half decent set, I like the new album a lot so I would see this for the new material. I think they should drop 2 of the new songs, replace something with Reign in Madness, and not have 3 PL songs be the encore but oh well.

Terrible, terrible setlist, and it has absolutely nothing to do with starting the show with 8 new songs in a row, I'm honestly completely fine with that. My issue is the absolute snore-fest with the rest of it. Hello guys, you have songs prior to Paradise Lost besides Of Sins and Shadows, Sea of Lies, and Inferno. This is pathetic. I'm also honestly afraid to see how long this show would run. I guess in the case of this European tour it's not so much of a big deal because I'm sure DGM and Pagans Mind play great sets as well, but still, I'd be surprised if this is 80 minutes of music.

I'm really surprised that Smoke got dropped. Figured that was untouchable territory as well... Honestly I have a feeling that unless they decide to do a tour solely with old material we are never going to get the good stuff from pre- PL :(

Not a bad set. I'd pay $100 to see Pagan's Mind and SX together.

Any mention of Pagan's Mind's set list?

Yeah, this bill is worth paying top dollar for the whole package. Whatever Symphony X isn't bringing to the table, DGM and Pagan's Mind more than make up for.

I love Paradise Lost, but come on, they had a huge catalog to choose song why just focus on that album?

my setlist would be like this:

Iconoclast
End of Innocence
Domination
Bastards of the Machine
The Eyes of Medusa
When All is Lost
Children of a Faceless God
Egypt
Inferno (Unleash the Fire)
Of Sins and Shadows
---------------------------
Sea of Lies
Set the World on Fire (The Lie of Lies)
Evolution

I saw them in June a few weeks before the release of Iconoclast, they we're great, Mike LePond confirmed that they will return to southamerica next year, hope they change a little bit this, lack of balance is what I see here.

As someone who loves PL and Iconoclast... that's pretty awful as far as a setlist goes.

Symphony X needs to just grow a pair of balls, be a real band, and play "evening with" shows where they play 2 and a half to 3 hours. Seriously, they have the fanbase and the back catalog to warrant it. Even if it's just once in a while on special tours, the true fans deserve it.

They really do, especially the US fans who didn't get to see the older tours at all. Russell has the vocal stamina to do it too.

I completely missed that Pagan's Mind and DGM were opening this tour. That's pretty awesome.

BUT.

This. Only two pre-PL songs? What is this? :(

I loved that run they did in November 2008 when they tossed some great TiO stuff in there. I guess I was kinda hoping they'd stick to that.

Well the first leg in 2007 was very similar to this, lot of PL, the main 4 old songs plus the Odyssey. 08 they changed it up so im hoping for a second leg with similar results. Was awesome to hear Masquerade and DWOT VII. However, they replaced the Egypt/Looking Glass swap with Walls of Babylon at my show :(

Aww, I didn't get to hear Egypt, either (or Walls of Babylon, for that matter). :( I heard Looking Glass at the first show I went to and liked it, but wasn't completely familiar with their discography at the time so I didn't recognize it. At the second show they dug out Church of the Machine and King of Terrors, and by that time I was more into them, so I basically went  forever.

November 2008 - they did like, five East Coast dates ("FOR THE HO-LIDAYS," proclaimed Russell) and pulled out some great shit.

Sweet set. Looking forward to this next month. Except Pagan's Mind aren't playing the UK dates for no real good reason.

Our Paradise Lost setlist was pretty neat: http://www.metalsetlists.com/showthread.php?t=7926
