Shit, I forgot about this concert! Glad I didnt go with that Parkway set. Basically a concatenated version of what they played here in february. Wonder how the crowd was? There were absolutely 0 scene kids for Parkeay before, but I'm sure it was different this time around.

And, hey Architects: fuck you for never playing a single song off your two perfect albums. :finger2:

A couple of my friends wanted me to go this on Monday, really glad I didn't considering Parkway Drive is the only good band on this tour and that was the exact set (minus Karma) they played at Warped Tour last year.

Saying negative things about some bands is ok, long as you don't like them, but if it's a band you like and I say something, it's totally uncalled for and just trolling. Good job guys, great levels of hypocrisy you've achieved

Yep.

Parkway had to cancel their date with BMTH here in LA, so were getting a headline show to make up for it. Hopefully they throw in Sirens Song, Mutiny, and some other goodies in there.

I seriously don't know who these bands are, but I am guessing a 36 year old man who primarily digs traditional cult US metal, power metal, and doom is probably NOT the target audience for this!

I imagine this was scene kids paradise with a the Parkway fans trying to kill them lol.

And is it just me or does the thought of the lead singer of BMTH want to make you track him down and torture him?

The thought of BMTH altogether makes me want to track all of them down, lock them in a rocket, and launch them into the sun.

"Bring me the homos" is different from what I do, amirite?

Parkway Drive is a scene kid band, why would the scene kids wanna kill other scene kids?

I was just ignoring him. Let alone the fact that if anything Parkway is considered Hardcore and not whatever kind of music BMTH is.

Magson13

I've seen them live, and they all wore ball shorts and had shitty gauges. One of them kept playing with his hair, between songs, and even during songs.

Yeah, it's obvious that PD are a hardcore-inspired metalcore band. One of the first waves of metalcore, too, back when it had a good name. You'll go to shows and see Winston wearing 50 Lions or Trapped Under Ice shirts. :fist: Very far from "scene", which is pretty dead nowadays anyway compared to the myspace years.

The big new thing is pseudo-hardcore (aka "IKEACORE") hardcore kids, a la Defeater, Have Heart, Touche Amore, etc. Which is actually good music in my opinion, so I'm fine.

Sarge D coined it. I think it's pretty hilarious, and describes that music perfectly.

http://www.stuffyouwillhate.com/2011/09/ikeacore-hardcore-for-overeducated-pussies-who-never-actually-liked-hardcore/

"The key features of IKEACORE as a genre mirror the weak, disgusting nature of its fans: dull, vaguely ‘punk’ music that is neither melodic nor heavy (see Fugazi); hoarse, ‘braying donkey’ style vocals that are completely tuneless (but it’s OK because they are are ‘singing with so much emotion’); and lyrics about stuff that liberal whites are into such as how great poor people are, unjust events in faraway countries or feeling sad about some bullshit."

It's also known as emotive hardcore or hipster hardcore. I still love Touché Amoré though. :D
