Looks like Avenged Sevenfold will tour the US again. They are currently plotting a tour with Hollywood Undead, Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria as the opening bands. It should be announced in a few weeks. I was told that Hollywood Undead and AA would likely be on major summer festivals next summer, not sure which festivals.

20 bucks Hollywood Undead headlines Uproar next year. Also I swear to go if Asking Alexandria plays Mayhem next year, I will cry. Asking Alexandria and Hollywood Undead announced a tour last week with We Came As Romans, god I hope Avenged Sevenfold isn't on this shit.

True, but that's relatively vague. If that's the case then they might as well throw Suicide Silence on the tour as well.

The Hollywood Undead/ Asking Alexandria tour is playing at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Don't know how they expect to come close to filling a 5,000 person place. I'll go though if its cheap since I actually like Asking Alexandria to some point. They were good at Warped Tour and it was a fun show. Again its one of my pleasures that I don't know why I have.

If Vader and Toxic Holocaust went on tour together, you could say the same thing. One is death metal, one is thrash metal. They're both metal, but that's a vague link.

similar, but where I am it's going to a 3,000 cap venue(though I have less than zero interest in going)... but have you actually looked up Asking Alexandria's CD sales? 31,000 units for their last CD first week out, so it is possible... Never realized how popular they were. and Hollywood Undead sold 67,000 copies first week.

For Chicago with tax tickets are $28.25. Not bad but its on a tueday and doors are at 4 and shows at 415. Thats extremely early and its on a school day so I don't see this place filling up. With the majority of schools being out around 3 it won't be filled.

Magson13

I see the majority of the crowd being around 16 for Hollywood Undead and a little older for Asking Alexandria. Any schools I've been to didn't have AA fans but alot of young kids like Hollywood Undead.

I think with the price and date that its on I'll buy a ticket for it just to see AA and I wouldn't mind seeing We Came As Romans. From what I've seen online and from friends that have seen Hollywood Undead they said they are pretty bad live.

Most bands don't hit the same market twice, especially not on back to back tours. Record labels want (and usually put into the contract) them to play in a more widespread area, so that record sales will be better. Also, promoters don't usually want to rebook the same band a couple months later, because anyone who had to take off work to see them last time, probably won't do so again, and ticket sales will be lower the second time.

dcmetal108

Well the last two tours A7X did both hit the same venue. And that venue is a couple hours from Chicago in what is really the middle of nowheres and you have to drive thru some bad neighborhoods to get there.

Is it in the middle of no where, between two major cities? That would be an easy explanation for it, if they draw from two major areas.

dcmetal108
09-16-2011, 07:45 PM
No the place they usually play is in a place named Rockford. Not close to Chicago at all. Or even Springfield for that matter. It's quite close to the Wisconsin border actually.

Magson13
09-16-2011, 09:16 PM
Just checked a map, and it looks like it's roughly 100 miles from Chicago, on a direct shot from the interstate. Plus it looks to be roughly the same distance from Madison, state capitol of Wisconsin. And on a straight shot from the interstate, that's less than a two hour drive (hour and a half if you don't have much city driving to do to hit the interstate). In terms of large scale shows, that's actually what I was talking about with the 'between two large areas' thing. All depends on ticket sales ultimately though, and obviously if the promoter is willing to do two tours back to back, then it must work for him/her.

dcmetal108
09-17-2011, 07:06 AM
Ticket sales weren't amazing from their last shows. They don't come close to selling it out.

And I guess A7X use to play in the city at a venue called Allstate Arena and my cousin who went was telling me that the place was empty. I don't see why they don't play something like The Aragon Ballroom. Holds a little over 5,000 people and they'd always sell out. I know they want their stage set that they've been using forever now with their pyro though.

Magson13
09-17-2011, 12:47 PM
It's not really up to the band where they play, it's up to the promoter. Long as the band gets paid their guarantee, they play where they're told. And as long as the promoter makes more than what he paid out for the guarantees, I guess it makes sense he book them again. All comes down to money in the end.

I mean to get to the amplitheater for summer shows it takes me about a hour but its just the Rockford venue isn't really in a great neighborhood plus from what I've heard its a shitty venue. Also it'd have to be some amazing band for me to drive multiple hours to.

My mom just ordered tickets for the Madison date (12/2/11). It sucks that Hollywood Undead is not playing that date because I wanted to see them in Milwaukee at Summerfest but due to racial related violence my mom wouldn't let me go. But I am still SO EXCITED to see Avenged Sevenfold.

I don't know anything about the two opening bands Asking Alexandria and Black Veil Brides, but my library has the Asking Alexandria album Reckless & Relentless and the Black Veil Brides album Set The World On Fire. So by December I'll probably know the songs they play off those albums.

In todays music world they are doing really well. If people complain i dont care and you shouldn't either its just on the internet it means nothing just as long as you like it then fuck it who cares what others say people today arent that smart anyway especially ones who just attack others likes on here all day wtf kind of life is that.

First off, I was wondering why I had a horrible headache this morning. Then I remember I saw this post and the horrible run off sentences. :hecho:

Also, stage show has nothing to do with creativity. Anyone can put up props to enhance their live performance. Doesn't make them any better, though. Also, I can distinguish Avenged Sevenfold's music from everything else because of Matt Shadows's or whatever the hell his name is god awful voice.

"first off" who cares about your headache it won't help anyone out. I'm not defending Sevenfold just to make it clear I'm mainly defending the good honest people who do like this music who get shit for it all the time and to make people open their minds about creativity because anyone can do it but it takes more then what you think if your mind is capable of thinking since everyone is so full of themselves because they listen to underground music. People shouldn't be so close minded. Where did class go today and where did ignorance came in?

uh... who's giving people who like Avenged Sevenfold shit?... If anything, dcmetal108 said he wanted to go to this tour and no one insulted him or anything. It's not like me or anyone else just goes out and find people who like Avenged Sevenfold and the like and ridicule them. What the hell are you talking about?

I don't give myself credit or feel better about myself for listening to "underground" music, it's the music that I happen to like. Just because I don't like Avenged Sevenfold doesn't mean I don't have an "open mind".

Try that in person sometime rather then being a tough guy on the internet. See how far that gets you.

I'll say this much. I'd rather see kids listening to A7X or 5 Finger than the horrible hiphop shit that's out there.

I quite enjoy it myself as well. :) I can't wait for the upcoming concert! I had to miss them the last time they were here because of other issues so I haven't seen them since 2008. It's gonna be sweet! :rocker:

I don't have Avanged Sevenfold. Just really disappointed they have gone so mainstream.

but that said. Save Me is their best song since Waking The Fallen.

The pop station here does that as well, Stone Sour's lighter songs, A7X's Ballads, Magson wanting to be Lady Gaga. You know, the normal stuff.

Yeah no kidding... it's one thing to bash a band but to bash their fans based on the sole fact of them liking the band... that is inconsiderate and above all, fucking retarded.

Magson, your flirting is making everyone here uncomfortable. How about you go to Hot Topic, find some suicidal girl (or in your case, the guy behind the counter wearing the Asking Alexandria and a giant bolt through his cock) who's desperate enough to fuck you, and go from there.

Some people are just plain, fucking stupid. Think of how stupid the average person is....and realize half the world is stupider then that.

I can almost 100% say they aren't. There hasn't even been a mention of them.
