The Faceless asked who wanted to see a tour with Cynic co-headlining on their Facebook. I would be interested.

I like both bands, but if The Faceless headlines, they'll be playing to a half-empty venue. Or vice-versa.

Cynic better be the last band playing or asses will be kicked.

I actually wouldn't mind, I have no interest in The Faceless and would rather get out early than have to bum around while they play before Cynic.

i can't imagine too many fans of one band being fans of the other

I can see at least 3/4 of the people staying. but I doubt cynic would go on before them anyway

They toured together already opening for Meshuggah. At the time, Cynic went on after The Faceless. But who knows? Times could've changed, mostly because The Faceless has gotten much more popular overall since then. Either way, I'd love to see them tour together.

Same. And not only is the Faceless way more popular now, but they have a new album comin out. So they would headline.

But enough talk of a hypothetical tour- I want new music already. Almost 3 years since Planetary Duality. :hmm:

I'm pretty sure Cynic is working on something too, but The Faceless will probably headline anyway.

I would assume so. The Faceless is touring in November with Born Of Osiris, Veil Of Maya, and one other band from Sumerian.

They toured together already opening for Meshuggah. At the time, Cynic went on after The Faceless. This is true. I was there (House of Blues, Chicago, 15-Feb-2009).

I'm pretty sure Cynic is working on something too...This is also true. No conclusive word yet on when it will be released. If it's not recorded by the time the tour happens, they'll undoubtedly be trying out the new songs on the tour, so either way you'll get to hear new Cynic material if you attend. :rocker:

Depends on what the other Sumerian band is. Dead Letter Circus is on Sumerian and they fucking kick ass. One of the only non-core bands on the label.

UPDATES!!!!!!!!!!

3 and one other band (possibly Anathema if it gets finalized) will be opening for Cynic for a 3 week tour starting in November. May or May not be a MN, if it is, it will be at Station 4.

The tour will be announced in the next 2 weeks or sooner. Just getting things finalized

*Info from Bassist of 3, Doug....yes I have Mob/musical ties*

*EDIT*

Yup Cynic/3/Anathema IT'S OFFICIAL

3 will have a half hour set, not sure on Anathema, Cynic, obviously headlining.

I know, right?

As for this new lineup, I'm pretty stoked. I really don't think the "lets mosh like crazy" Faceless crowd really mixes well with Cynic's style. Will be seeing this for sure if it comes by me.

You'd be surprised how little moshing goes on at The Faceless shows. That's not to say there isn't any, but most of the crowd is oggling Michael Keene.

Nope. Apparently the wording got messed up when you quoted me. Somebody should look into that.

And yeah, Having seen man of Faceless videos. The crowd rarely moshes, they watch...which is what I like from a crowd.

Do you guys want to see us take Job For A Cowboy with us on our headline tour in February?

Job for a Cowboy is alright, their live performance is pretty meh though. It beats having a shit core band support them at least.

It could be worse, I mean at least they're more death metal now, and less deathcore. they could want to bring Rings of Saturn, Oceano, or some other god-awful band.

Shitty death metal >>> Shit core.

Like kommie said, it EASILY could be Oceano or some god-awful band of the like. Those are the kind of bands that get booked with bands like The Faceless.

JFAC is alright. However i'm kind of biased now because my friends brother is their new guitar player, Tony the guitarist from Cadaveryne (local death metal band from Massachusetts), also played some shows with despised icon, i don't know if they ever officially announced him being a live member though, i never got a chance to see them with DI .
