I went to this show with my friend I've been talking to online. We got there and chilled for a while until the first band, Kairos, came on. They're a local instrumental metal band. Sorta like Tool but a little more psychedelic+jammy and with some heavy groove parts. They played 30-45 min and throroughly impressed me. The drummer had the most insane fills; in some cases, they practically made the song. Definitely glad that these guys are local and will probably check out some more shows by them in the future.

I went outside for a couple minutes, had a cigarette (which I didn't think was anything special – just tasted like smores in an outdoor fire pit when I accidentally just eat the fire). Razormaze came on and blew my fucking socks off. WOW. They ripped up the small bar. The 30 or so people there went crazy, and I had an amazing time moshing. The band played well for a small bar's PA. They were simply thrashtastic, man.

Not in any order:

Karma in/Karma Out
Creed of Absolution
Miseries of the Flesh
Lobotomized
Seek and Destroy
Slave to the Maze

I'm missing two songs from the set, I think. The first three songs on the set up there are from the thrashtastic Miseries EP; it's a free download from Bandcamp and last.fm so get on that shit, guys. They also debuted two new songs that sounded awesome; one was really fast and heavy, the other a little more rockin.' Their cover of Seek and Destroy was incredible; the bar went absolutely fucking nuts. After the part where Hetfield goes “Searching...seek and destroy” the drummer added a sweet blastbeat fill. It was quite tasty :agree:

Looking forward to more small shows like this in Burlington! :rocker:

Razormaze ended around 12:30. I dunno what time they went on, though. They played something like a 35-45 min set, from what it seemed.

What did you look like/what t-shirt were you wearing? I may have seen you. I was in a white Kylesa shirt.

and yeah, so stoked for The Sword man!

I actually skipped them when they came here. Didn't seem like I'd like them that much.

well I assume that, after reading my review, you regret not going after all;)

they kinda remind me of Death Angel, especially in the vocals department.

The information my friend had said that the show was starting at 8pm and ending around 10pm. I had to be up early to get ready for the storm. We left the venue once we found out what time the bands were playing. So I was wearing my Biohazard shirt, but we left the venue around 8pm.

The Sword is going to be great!
