Since we got a new album coming out soon, I thought it's a good time to see everyone's opinions on their discography.

You know it would be nice if this thread actually had a poll...

Anyway, The Bleeding without a doubt.

Tough choice but I went with The Bleeding.

I gotta go with Eaten Back To Life because, like I said in the other thread, it's one of the first albums that got me into Death Metal. I've really grown to love The Bleeding recently, but I'll stick with my choice.

Damn, I'm the only one so far that's voted for Bloodthirst. A lot of these are favorites to me but I gotta give it to that one.

It was a tough call for me, because several CC albums are hard to compare to one another. All of the Barnes-era albums sound quite different from one another, largely in part due to the evolution of his vocal style over the years.

I went with a Corpsegrinder album that had no votes: Gallery of Suicide.

So far "Fuck This Shitty Death Metal Band!" is everyone's favorite album. :hmm:

 Now it's tied with Kill...

Very interesting spread. I personally have a soft spot for Vile. I think this poll is just a testament to all the quality material CC had put out through the years.

No love for Wretched or Evisceration? :(

ShatteredFlame

I voted Evisceration Plague cause that is probably the one I listened to in full the most. When it comes to listening to them I just usually put them on shuffle tbh.

Eaten Back to Life is my favorite CC album ever, one of my top 3 death metal albums ever and also one of my favorite metal albums, so I must go with that. It's a completely different style than later CC though. I love the almost sloppyness (compared to the ultra technical later CC albums) and it's a shame they did away with the "thrash parts" in post Eaten albums. Corpsegrinder era stuff is good but it doesn't blow me away like the first few. Cannabis Corpse are better at being Cannibal Corpse after The Bleeding I think.

This is probably the first even debate I've seen on this site! Usually there's a distinguished leader that most agree on, but this just isn't the case here! Very interesting, great testament to Cannibal's continued output!

Hey, there are people here who don't like death metal. If they want to express that, I'll let them.

Then why would they vote on a poll that's irrelevant to their musical interests? C'mon, man... you're asking people what their favorite CC album is; if someone doesn't have a favorite album or doesn't like the band, they shouldn't vote, simple as that.

You can't expect to run a legitimate poll when the highest-voted option is completely irrelevant to what the question is asking.

I just looked that up and never have I seen a more diverse lineup for a festival. I'm surprised they're playing a gig so soon, if they're just about to start recording.

Hands down KILL. It was the 1st album for them I was able to see them live with, so I do have a bias because it was "my era's album," like how the past two Iron Maiden albums have been "mine".

KILL combined all that was great about the brutal cacophony that is the majority of Corpse, with the slower "sludgier" sound that is Gallery of Suicide. All of their releases are solid efforts, but when you come down to bringing in 20 years of music into one disc, you get a sound that defines the band. KILL is the culmination of all the years of Cannibal Corpse neatly wrapped in a body bag.

I'm surprised Kill is getting as much love as it is. It's a killer album but I just thought most people preferred the older stuff.

Same. I personally don't think Kill was up to par with their older material. And by older I mean stuff before Kill.

I'm not surprised Kill is getting so much love. It kind of broke new ground for them with the almost squeaky-clean production, and the songwriting is much more cohesive... not to mention, the album is much heavier... than the last several albums that came before it.

Personally The Wretched Spawn is my least favorite album, it's not that bad but I've always thought of it as a slightly watered-down continuation of Gore Obsessed. Kill was a breath of fresh air for me, and probably some of the people here who voted for it.

I gotcha. KILL definitely opened the death metal doors to a lot of newer metal fans.

Plus it helps to tour like crazy with a lot of "underground" Death Metal acts that brings out the youth who haven't heard a good amount Cannibal Corpse. KILL breathed new life into them.

I did! It's my favorite death metal album of all time, as a matter o' fact :rocker:

The Bleeding in a close 2nd, and Vile in a very close 3rd.
