Because of border problems Six Feet Under was not able to play this date of the tour. At least we got more Dying Fetus (best band of the day in my opinon)! Also sadly, the sound for Fleshgod was shit: we could barely hear the guitars and we couldn't hear the keyboard.

During Whitechapel, we had a hardcore dancer stopping crew systematically shoving them and after a few minutes there was none of them left, which is kinda great!

I was gonna go to the Toronto Summer Slaughter show for Six Feet Under but now I'm glad I didn't. I'd have been furious to find out they couldn't get into the country

Of all the many shows I've been to, this is one of the very few I've actually regretting going to. I was there to see Dying Fetus, Six Feet Under and Whitechapel. SFU didn't show up, I'm assuming problems at the border. I figured because of this, the other bands would get more time. DF did, they played 9 tunes and got about 38 minutes. I was happy w/ that, but fucking Whitechapel only played for 38 minutes as well, and they were the co-headliners (or main support, whatever). Bullshit. $42 ticket, $20 to park, $20 on gas, and getting to the venue took 130 minutes, and usually taked about 80. Pretty shitty night.

On a plus note, I filmed both Dying Fetus and Whitechapel. Both should be pretty good, but a little dark. YT clips as soon as my internet is working, on the computer at work right now.

VOIDFLAME, we oughta meet up at a MTL show some time. Let me know the next one you're going too.

The only band I saw (or heard say they'd be) at their merch stang was Fleshgod. I hung around the area between sets cause I wanted to meet the dudes from Dying Fetus.

I noticed most of the bands members walking around the venue at various points during the day. I talked to Trevor of bdm and Anguilla of the dudes from darkest hour for a while. Jamey jasta was at our date of summer slaughter with kingdom of sorrow and I talked to him for 10-15 minutes.

Chris barns does a signing at the stops and I noticed most bands said they would be at the booth signing. Fleshgod apocalypse was at their booth the entire day after they played

@HellAwaits: sucks, dude! I'm no exactly a 6FU fan, so I can't relate. However, Whitechapel didn't play at all my date, and Black Dahlia didn't even get a longer set.

I think with the ticket+parking+gas I only spent $35, so I feel for your wallet, too. :(

any thoughts on Darkest Hour on this tour? seems they get skipped over in almost all the reviews.

 I talked about 'em...

Kind of bad crowd reaction, but they slayed musically.

Yes, they were good. I'm not a huge fan of them, but they played well.

Montreal is an expensive city, so I'm used to it, but just the overall expendatures weren't worth it.

Oh god, I know. I was there with my family in June. Fuckin' frenchies and their taxes.

By the way, you going up to the Exhumed/Goatwhore show in MTL?

Eh, maybe. I work every Friday, but I might be able to arrange a swap, maybe get a few dudes to come. Will you be visiting family during that time?

Just look at my signature! The next one is Misery Index today at the Foufounes Électriques. Also saw you were talking about Exhumed, I'm also going to that show. Would be cool if we met at one of them, just tell me which ones you plan on going to! And by the way, you'll see I'm not very good at speaking english, but I can try...

I loved Darkest Hour! I'm a big fan since about 5 years and they played impeccably, John's voice sounded better than on cd (especially for the older songs; the ones on the new album were just flawless) and they had tons of energy, even if there were very few people that seemed to be really enjoying them. I don't understand why people don't like them now, because at Summer Slaughter 2009 there were tons of people moshing and headbanging to their music. Maybe the metal scene is just slowly dying here in Montreal...

Dude, I told you I was going to Vermont for school  If I can get a ride I'll go, as I don't expect you to take a ferry over the lake to come pick me up

I can't see Doomsayer as a set closer. Sure it's probably the best song I've heard by Darkest Hour but that song is the opener of openers.

In Chicago it seemed Darkest Hour got the worst crowd support out of all bands but they were still decent just not a huge fan.

And about meeting the bands: Fleshgod did their merch table the entire time and I met them and got a signed cd. Chris Barnes did a autograph session but the line was insanely long. Powerglove after their set came out to their table and signed everyones stuff. I got my ticket signed and most people were having them sign dollor bills. I know most of the bands were just walking around and during Fleshgod Trevor stood on the balcony and watched and waved to the crowd. Also the lead singer of As Blood Runs Black just walked around all day and during BDM I looked to my left in the crowd and he was standing right next to me with his girlfriend so you do have a good chance of meeting most of the bands.

^This and the fact that they aren't playing anything from The Mark of the Judas or So Sedated, So Secure is a fucking crime. An Epitaph should never leave their sets.

Lol calm down. They have been playing all that shit for how long now. They wanted to play newer stuff for the most part on this tour because they were tired of playing those songs they had been playing for ten years.

Thanks guys. I am just so sick of seeing them get to play a handful of songs on these bullshit package tours. id liek to see them play more headline shows around NYC (they dont do that alot here believe it or not), where they can do an hour and change or more.

i also am bewildered as to why they arent more popular. They are so solid and certainly play an accessible form of metal. ah well, they'll continue to be our little secret.
