If they are going to name the cruise Barge To Hell, at least make the destination somewhat fitting, like Havana or Caracas.

Interesting. I personally think the assortment on 70k was perfect, but I'm still curious to hear what they'll be doing with this one. If they did one of these in the summer, I'd seriously be tempted to spend my excess student loan money on one of these. Seriously.

Unfortunately, I can't really see Opeth fit, in their current state of "no growlies".

I'm reeeallly hoping that after this "soft" tour they'll wanna come back with a heavy opener and some heavy songs. The boat would be perfect!

The lineup is off to a pretty strong start. However, I'm going to pass on this and attempt to make it on next year's 70k Tons instead.

On one hand I'm kinda bummed they're basically reusing 50000 Tons bands. But on the other hand, at worst, its another 50000 tons cruise :D

Their announcement posts are the corniest shit ever. Someone at that organisation needs to be taught how to write.

greenReaper
11-03-2012, 01:25 AM
Sadly Belphegor dropped... however LOCK UP and NACHTMYSTIUM were both added tonight. We leave in a month and there are still 12 bands to be officially announced, plus they normally add 2 "bonus" bands. I'm going. Interested to hear other peoples' thoughts on the voyage.

I love the idea of this, but I find it hard to believe that those bands have enough fans with enough money to even buy a ticket for this. I guess there might be enough rich metalheads out there who like those bands. Hard to say.

elturtleboy

Sodom/Napalm Death/Mayhem in one place. Fuhhhhhh

greenReaper
11-03-2012, 09:36 PM
I paid it and am by no means rich! It's just an experience like no other. However on the organizer's part (UMC) it would've been far mor lucrative to have announced the full lineup months ago (as MDF did). Still 12-14 bands left to announce, even though the lineup is fucking sick as is. And seeing Black Metal bands play on the top of a cruise ship surround by black water all throughout the night will be ungodly, no pun intended.

I like Bonded By Blood but I couldn't get excited about them being one of the last announcements

greenReaper
11-11-2012, 02:30 AM
And I love Grave and was severely underwhelmed by Bonded. However there are still 10 more bands to be announced and most likely 2 bonus bands in the next 4 weeks. Terrible marketing and for those of us going it's near torture!

treghet

Seems odd to pick Grave, since they just finished touring here. They should have got Entombed or Unleashed instead.

greenReaper

Grave doesn't seem too odd though because of the last 2 cruise American's were only 30% of the total ship population. So lass than a third of the boat got to see them assuming they went to the show

Let the world-wide EXODUS for BARGE TO HELL begin! Paying tribute to our global customer base, please also welcome: SEITA from Brazil and The Netherlands, HAVOK from the USA, NECRONOMICON from Germany and HEADCRUSHER from Columbia!

Departs in 9 days

The last day of November, NOVEMBERS DOOM! Now it's time to reveal the VITAL REMAINS of BARGE TO HELL, The World's Most Extreme Metal Cruise! But first, we have to clear up some confusion. We all know that NECRONOMICON are on board. But which one? Both! The Germans and the Canadians!

Traditionally, we also want to give some young hopefuls a stage. Please welcome: ABIOTIC, ZANTHROPYA EX, and DARK SERMON!

However, we also have some bad news. Due to an unlucky scheduling conflict with their studio and needing to have their new album delivered in time, SIX FEET UNDER will unfortunately not be joining us on board.

But that can't be all, can it? Of course not! There must be one last treat. A treat of evil witchcraft: Please welcome BRUJERIA!

There is not much time left, book NOW or you will miss the boat!

SIX FEET UNDER will unfortunately not be joining us on board.

Chris Barnes realized there would be a whole ton of merch on the ship and he would have to actually interact with fans.

Hypocrisy Barge To Hell

Due to personal reasons we've to cancel the Barge To Hell cruise. We don't wanna give any details about the cancellation since it's personal.

We're very sorry about this and hope you'll have a good time anyway. We'll be back next year with a new album and tours all over the world.

See you all next year!
