I expect better than 6-10 for my Cowboys. How much better? No clue. 8-8 or 9-7, maybe. I'd say 9-7 and challenging for a playoff spot would be a successful season, IMO.

I think the Cowboys will do great this year. Better then the Eagles? Probably not, but I expect a Wild Card spot. Rob Ryan doesn't fuck around when it comes to D. I mean look what he did with the Browns last year. That D alone beat the Saints and the Pats. Our offense is fire and we have the best receiving corps in the league and Romo is a damn good QB when he actually gets time in the pocket. Dumping Barber was a great idea and drafting Murray to replace was a good move. We have a lot of talent on the Cowboys, but we didn't have the coach or the right people to do bring it out of them. I expect good things and can't wait for the season to start. Happy I get to see them in training camp :D

Packers will be the team to beat again in the NFC. Team last year was all 2nd stringers and packed with injuries. I am scared to see what the whole team can do when 100% healthy and on their A-game.

Austin, Dez, and Witten. Could sign Malcolm Flyod since we need more depth at WR.

But with an unproven O-Line, will Romo have time to get the ball to them? I hope so. I hope Tyron Smith is the bad ass people think he is.

Sinister_Chalupa666

I hope so as well, O line got Romo and Kitna killed last season. Romo was on tap for a 4,000 passing season and then when I saw him get fucking owned and holding his shoulder I wanted to scream bloody murder outside. Kitna did very well last season and was cool to see him have a good season like that. Lets hope Smith can get it done.

Well another training camp has begun and the utter hopelessness has started for us Bills fans. As for my other favorite team the Broncos, I don't think they are going to be as bad as a lot think. Not that good, but not that bad either. 8-8 maybe. That division can be won with an average team. And as long as the scumsucking Cowboys go 0-16 or something close, it will be a great season :D

Yeah, I think I'll amend my prediction after some thought and listening to some sports radio this morning. We're basically bringing back the same defense that was the worst in our history and hoping Ryan can miraculously fix it. That and we have absolutely no depth, especially at receiver, o-line and in the secondary. Any injuries and we are royally screwed. Best case scenario, 8-8.

Thanks for blowing all your money on the shiny new stadium, Jerry. No money left to spend on the actual team. At least we have that huge video board in which to watch mediocre football on.

Well, stadium money =/= salary cap money, but your other points are well taken. Problem is, there wasn't a huge free agency market for the positions we needed at defense, and the ones that were out there were too expensive.

We've made room under the cap by cutting Roy Williams, Marion Barber, Leornard Davis, Marc Columbo and by restructuring the contracts of Ware and Romo. There are decent players out there that could add some much needed depth. They just aren't spending. Pinning their hopes on Garrett and Ryan begin miracle workers.

We desperately need secondary help and we passed on about 4 decent safeties out there.

Sanitarium78

I think having the Bills at 5-11 is being too generous. I think they'll be lucky to win three or four games this year. I think the Jets will be better than 9-7 and that them and the Pats will battle it out for the division championship. Whoever doesn't win that will probably get a wild card spot. The Bills and Dolphins are pretty much nonfactors in the AFC East.

I'm not sure if it's a stretch for the Texans to get in. Like you said, it's gotta happen at some point. Except for the Bills and Lions it seems every team over the last decade has lucked out at least once and snuck into the post season.

The Eagles will be a fun team to watch this year and i'm glad to see you've got them winning their division. It's also nice to see you've got the always overrated and overhyped Cowboys doing nothing again. Even though media wants you to believe they are always something great when they're not. I guess nobody's given them the memo that the Cowboys haven't done anything that special since winning the Super Bowl in 1995.

It's not that much of a reach, actually, considering the Colts are hurting hard. They'll be hurting a looot harder if Manning misses any time.

Fitzpatrick > You think he is.

I think 5-11 or 6-10 is possible for them, but they will never sniff that division.

powerslave_85
08-30-2011, 11:08 AM
Nah, the AFC's too strong for the Texans to sneak into the playoffs. Once Manning's 100%, the Colts will be much more dangerous than last year, when they were practically pulling people off the street to counter all their injuries.

I think Fitzpatrick is an above average QB but nothing more. I don't see him as a problem though. It's the rest of the team and the unproven head coach that's the issue.

I don't even give a shit about the Bills much anymore. That's why I got the NFL sunday ticket a few years ago, so I don't have to be bored to death by being forced to watch their games because that's all you get locally. Instead I can actually watch real teams play and enjoy good football:rocker:

Hightower is a decent back, but I would've taken the bet as well. I wouldn't be suprised if he hit 1000, but 1500? That's elite. Usually 2-3 and sometimes fewer get that many in a season.

He can do it in Shanahan's zone blocking scheme, but I wouldn't ever bet that he actually does it. I'd take the over on a 1200 any day of the week, but not 1500.

Coming from someone who has had Hightower on his fantasy team twice this won't ever happen. I don't think of him as the #1 back. Maybe like 1-A but not the definitive #1. That running style of his won't touch 1500 IMO.

When he was in Arizona, I would agree with you. Now that he is in Washington in Shanahan's system I think he will have a good year. I don't think he will hit 1500 rushing yards but he could hit 1500 total yards. I drafted him in both of my fantasy leagues. Did you see him run in the preseason? He looked like a different player.

I look at Andrew Luck and see the most polished pro-prospect ever. I said it. There is no one more equipped to currently be in the NFL as a QB than him. He doesn't have Elway's rocket, but he has Mannning's smarts and the pocket presence of a young Jesus. Whoever gets him immediately becomes relevant. It's that simple.

I'm hoping the Broncos don't even make it passed the first round. I don't watch too many of those sports-talk shows but whenever I do all I hear is Tim Tebow, Tim Tebow,Tim Tebow,Tim Tebow,Tim Tebow,Tim Tebow,Tim Tebow,Tim Tebow,Tim Tebow. So sick and tired of hearing his name. If they go out in the first round then three of my most hated people in the NFL (along with Rex and Rob Ryan) will be done with any I won't have to see them on my TV for six months. I can't say I hate Tebow as much as those two fatasses but I just want to hear about the other 31 starting quarterbacks in the league once and awhile.

I think the two teams with the highest chance of beating them are either the 49ers or the Ravens. I don't think the Packers have shown the D to reach unstoppable status yet.

I would add the Saints to that list.

I just don't think the Saints are good enough in the secondary to win that game. Yeah, they score a lot of points, but I think these games will boil down to a lot more than that.

Atleast this whole Tebow "mania" will be over by next week. It makes for captivating TV but lets admit what happened today. They beat a team w/ a QB who was @ 60% at best, w/o starting RB, pro bowl center, perennial all pro corner. The word for Denver is opportunistic. They beat a ton of teams earlier b/c of them having poor QB's and Marion Barber not being smart enough to run out of bounds. Sorry to burst anyones Denver bubble. This makes for a great story on ESPN but anybody who really follows football knows what this is. We will be getting a NE/BAL AFC title game. Hoping Baltimore gets in!!!

The Saints-Niners game last night will certainly go down as one of the greatest playoff games of all time. Holy shit.

Absolutely. I was on the edge of my seat the entire game. 4 lead changes in the last 4 minutes? Fucking incredible.

A far cry from the Broncos-Patriots. I wonder what the final score would have been if New England hadn't let up during the second half.

As much as I loathe the Pats, I wanted to see Brady get a 7th TD and break the record.

A good route is always entertaining.

And so long Green Bay?! Didn't see that one coming. Well, maybe in a way. They could get overconfident from time to time and I saw it tonight. Why try an onside kick in the first half? And too many "hail-marys" from Rogers in the first half. They were playing the first half like it was the last five minutes when they didn't need to. I don't know if they were out to show how good they thought they were or panicking but either way they're done now.

So who's it gonna be next week?

I'll pick the Patriots over the Ravens and the 49's over the Giants.

Goddamn cunting Packers. My only ray of hope in the playoffs is to have the Giants go home, and they couldn't accomplish that.

I don't think I've ever had such a reaction to a sports game like that. I was in a bar in downtown New York and over the course of the game people were appreciating me for my...intensity. But by the end of the game, random strangers were coming up to me saying stuff like "I've never been so entertained watching someone watch a game before."

I wanted to puke after Graham's touchdown, but once I saw that Vernon pass down to the 20 I knew it was about to happen.

Alex Smith's bust legend is over. He's redeemed himself forever. Good for him.

I think you'll see that too. In fact, I like the 49ers in that matchup. A lot. It'd be if a worse defending Saints went up against the 49ers on a neutral ground. I'd love to see that.

AFC- as much as I hate the Pats, I see no way the Ravens win considering the way they played against the Texans; they were very lucky to come out winners, and it helped Houston give them turnovers to turn into 17 points. The Pats played a complete game vs. the Broncos and they also got that monkey off their back of not winning a playoff game since the 2007 AFC Championship.Unless the Ravens do an about face on their play I see no way they win

Patriots 34, Ravens 17

NFC- As I posted the 49ers game was one of the greatest sporting events I have ever watched on TV (the first was 1998 when my Broncos won Super Bowl XXXII) The 49ers have to be pumped up after the win over the saints and as a bonus they get to host the NFC Championship. That will be in their favor. But as we saw the Giants are no pushovers and Manning is showing his elite status. However the 49er's defense is in a class above the Packers and will slow down the Giants attack. With that I think the 49ers will have enough to pull off the win

49ers 24, Giants 20

I will say I am rooting for an Ravens-49ers Super Bowl, AKA the Bro Bowl. Can you image how their family would feel if both of them faced each other in the Super Bowl? The Thanksgiving game was hard enough for the parents

but in any case, go Giants:bouville:
