Boring, as expected. :bouville:

Well it was a festival. There was probably a good bit of people there who don't know Megadeth so there's no need for Dave to dig deep into the catalogue for them.

The band was given two hours and played for about one, which was fine, because I couldn't feel any parts of my body after having been there the entire day. Dave's voice sounded pretty good, and the good songs were amazing, but he really does need to pick a better setlist. Here are some other ones from the day:

Motorhead:

Iron Fist
Stay Clean
Get Back In Line
Over the Top
?
I know How to Die
The Chase is Better Than the Catch
In the Name of Tragedy - Drum Solo - Tragedy continued
Going to Brazil
Killed by Death
Ace of Spades
Overkill

Anthrax:

Caught in a Mosh
Got the Time
Madhouse
Antisocial
Indians
Fight 'em 'til You Can't
Metal Thrashing Mad
Only
I Am the Law

Diamond Head:

It's Electric
?
The Prince
Sucking My Love
Helpless
Am I Evil?

For Diamond Head, I'm not sure that was the order. I know the first two are right and the last one is right. I don't have a set from Children of Bodom, but I know they played Hate Me and my brother said they also played Children of Bodom and Hate Crew Deathroll.

Overall, day 1 of Heavy TO was a lot of fun. There was a great turnout and all of the older bands were really good. Anthrax was by far the best band of the night. I hadn't seen any band before yesterday, but I can assure you that I will see Anthrax next time they come back. Even though Motorhead and Megadeth were good, I'm not sure I would see them again.

Also, Diamond Head said it was their first time in Toronto, which I was having trouble believing. Either way, their set was awesome and Am I Evil? was the best song of the entire concert. Motorhead playing Overkill was amazing too because it was raining pretty hard at the time and it was the perfect ending song for them.

I'm hoping to get sets from Exodus, Death Angel, Anvil, Testament, and Slayer today, so I'll post those either tonight or tomorrow.

Why does Dave insist on opening with Trust? If you're going to open with something from that frisbee of an album, open with The Disintegrators and only The Disintegrators.

Pfft... No. Other than The Disintegrators, Cryptic Writings is a complete throwaway, at least to these ears.

They opened with The Disintegrators when I saw them on the CW tour if that makes you happy?

Trust isn't that strange of an opener, it is the opening track on that album after all. With the way the drums, bass and guitar build to the opening riff makes for a good begining live. You know they slowly build it up and then, "BAM!" Dave kicks in with the main riff. Which by the way is a really good riff, I think.

It makes me kind of happy I guess.

I understand why it's used as an opener, same reason Overkill will open with Necroshine -- it's a slow build and then kicks into the main riff. The difference is Necroshine kicks all kinds of ass, Trust just doesn't. There are countless better choices for an opener in the Megadeth catalog than Trust, especially given how stale their setlists seem lately.

I like Trust, but I agree that it's a horrible opener. I also don't care for Cryptic Writings much at all.

I like Trust and I like Cryptic but I agree that it's not a good opener.

Opening with Trust confuses me.
