Holy dog shit, 26 songs! So glad they finished with an old song rather than that buzzkill bore of a new song. Finally I get to witness a song from October, and Zooropa itself was amazing! :bliss: You can tell the NLOTH songs are pretty tired out at this point, they really should have tried out more songs from that record...Fez, Stand Up Comedy, White As Snow, Cedars Of Lebanon  ...all never even tried. Anyway, what a great night.

Even Better Than The Real Thing
The Fly
Mysterious Ways
Until The End Of The World
I Will Follow
Get On Your Boots
Magnificent
I Still Havenít Found What Iím Looking For
Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
Beautiful Day
Elevation
Pride (In The Name Of Love)
Miss Sarajevo
Zooropa
City Of Blinding Lights
Vertigo
I'll Go Crazy If I Donít Go Crazy Tonight
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Scarlet
Walk On
One
Where The Streets Have No Name
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
With Or Without You
Moment Of Surrender
Out Of Control

Several observations:

Looks like "Scarlet" is becoming somewhat of a staple on this leg. That's cool.
Looks like they're sticking with the "open with four songs from Achtung Baby" format. That's VERY cool.:cool:
Looks like they busted out "Magnificent" this time, instead of one of the crappier songs from NLOTH. Nice. I love that song.
They really need to stop doing "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me". That song has always been boring as hell.
Thank hell they didn't close with "Moment of Surrender" (although they *almost* did). An older song is a better choice, but I still wish they'd go back to "40".
Overall, this looks like a great set. I'm really getting stoked for next Tuesday in Pittsburgh. :rocker:

The last time I saw them was in the old Giants Stadium in 2009. Glad your experience there was similarly awesome to the one I had. :fist:

You guys having another kid already? You just shut up right now. My little swimmers don't need any further encouragement.

They do seem to get all "let's find the egg" every time Bono is around, though. ;)

I like everything you said except for HMTMKMKM...that song is friggin awesome, much better than Ultraviolet.Fair enough. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Personally, I love Ultraviolet, and to be honest, I liked it even more after I saw them do it live in East Rutherford a few years ago. It was honestly one of the highlights of the set for both me and my wife. The light show was just incredible.

EDIT: How in the world could you not love this? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUD4CQT33w4) I still get goosebumps just thinking about it...

1980-1990Change that to "1980-1991" and you've got yourself a deal. Achtung Baby is one of their best albums, IMO.

UV is ok, not a bad song, but I'm into the "non-hits" of Achtung Baby a lot more. I'd give a left arm to see Acrobat played live.

Let's not forget about Love Is Blindness, a simply other-worldly tune.

At least you got a decent closing song.

And I agree, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me is not a very good song at all. I'm not sure why I liked it all those years ago.

My favorite song on the disc! Might I add that AB is my favorite U2 disc.

I became a fan of U2 when War came out and retro-actively bought Boy and October. I remember those 2 cassettes had the entire recording on each side, which I don't remember any other band doing.

Out Of Control

How was the crowds reaction to this song? After witnessing the Toronto crowd I can't imagine that anyone knew what the hell it was. And how was the performance of it? Was there some special circumstance for them playing it?

My old cassette of Reign in Blood had the entire album on each side of the cassette.

My section sucked, a lot of sections sucked, not just for this song but for most. When you get a crowd of 70,000 or whatever in the US, people stand and cheer for Mysterious Ways and With or Without You, but the rest is just filler for them.

I'm sure the GA Floor was into it, but I was up high, and it looked more like something to do for the majority rather than being real U2 fans.

The performance itself was pretty good, they do play songs slower than normal nowadays, especially the older songs, but I honestly didn't care, it was SOMETHING.

Earlier in the night, Paul read from a setlist they played 30 years prior in NJ, and I think that sparked his mind into playing it. Springsteen was in the crowd and I think he wanted to keep pace with those who play 2.5 hour shows...

My old cassette of Reign in Blood had the entire album on each side of the cassette.I was going to mention this, too. I think I had a few other metal cassettes where this was the case as well, but Slayer is the one I remember most.
