No dates or opening acts yet but Down is going on a US fall tour that will run through September.

I have a hunch that Ghost has a possibility of being on this tour but that is far from official at this time.

First Crowbar, then Kingdom of Sorrow, now Down.

Looks like plenty of chances to meet Kirk :rocker:

I'm not so sure if I'm up to seeing Down before the new album/material comes out. I love seeing them live, but I saw them 3 times after Over the Under came out and I saw what I needed for the moment. I might change my mind later but who knows

I'm going to go ahead and say that Ghost will not be opening for DOwn because they are opening for Enslaved and Alcest in October....

...Just sayin'.

Which might mean they're free in September... And Phil Anselmo rates them as the best young band around at the moment.

When I first read this, I saw, "DOWNFALL Tour 2011", which made me hope for half a second that Children of Bodom would actually do a good tour. Then I snapped out of it.

I cannot wait for this and I cannot wait for new material. I met the band on the short tour they did at the end of April and it was amazing.

I don't know it to be true but I would bet the first 6 song EP will be out in conjunction with this tour. The timing is right for it. As for Ghost, I wasn't sure about their plans but Kirk & Phil talk about them alot & they would be a good fit for this tour along with Hank 3's A.D.D. imo. Of course an evening with Down will be just fine too.

Down absolutely love playing together. You can see the chemistry at work on stage and how much they just love it. Makes it even better. I am so psyched.

Down and Ghost would be a strange bill.

Down, Danava, and Haarp was a strange bill this past Spring. I know they are all friends but they are all totally different styles. I think Down just likes to tour with people they like and have fun with, at least nowadays.

Wait, wasn't there supposed to be a second Metalliance tour later this year?

Just a thought.

Wouldn't surprise me. Down would fit perfectly on that tour as the headliner.

I hope Haarp would be on this tour as well. I got to see them open when Arson Anthem did a mini tour. I would love to see them again even though I doubt it since they've been opening for them for quite awhile it sounds like.

I would assume Metalliance wouldn't be till next year unless they are doing like a Jagermeister thing where there's a spring and fall tour. I don't know. Anxious to see.

ADD would be an awesome opener for Down, but I doubt Hank3 would tour ADD without performing a country set beforehand and that would mess up time slot for ADD. Plus ADD is doing a Sep/Oct tour already. I would like an evening with Down again so we can get the two hour set again:D

I don't think that was too strange of a bill. Sludge/Stoner/SpaceRock are not too far from each other.

They toured with Danava, Weedeater and the Melvins a few years ago, so that's not much different..

A band that can afford to travel around North America 2 times in 2 months?

Not that it can't happen. I just don't see it happening.

Or they could just stay here the entire two months without going home.

Or they could just stay here the entire two months without going home.

That's what I was getting at. I don't how they could afford to be away from home for 2 months of touring around North America twice. They are not that big yet.

If they can support that, I am all for it because they are a great band.

DOWNFALL would imply something to the effect of this band was good, now they're taking a DOWNFALL, AKA every Bodom CD after Hatebreeder, so I don't think it'd be a good tour, at all.

A bit more info has leaked concerning Down touring. It will be a 3 week tour kicking off on Sept. 2nd. I know it will hit up the midwest area. Pops in St. Louis will get one of the shows. Other than that I doubt I hear much more until the official word is let out, which I assume would be this week or next week.

I do live in Missouri. I was hoping for a KC/Tulsa date. OKC & STL are about 5 hour drives for me so not quite as doable for me.

Hmm there are so many good Down songs I don't know where you should start. Stone the Crow, Bury Me in Smoke, Eyes of the South, Hail the Leaf....basically the entire NOLA record is fucking brilliant. Down II has a lot of great songs on it, but isn't as good as NOLA, but still amazing. Down III is better than Down II in my opinion, check out I Scream, On March the Saints, Nothing in Return.

I think NOLA will be one of those albums I will always love. Its such an awesome album. I may not listen to it that often anymore, but will always cherish it for what it is. The riff in Eyes of the South is so powerful. When I graduated from high school, my friend gave me a special muffin. After an hour or so I wasn't feeling high, but then on my way home I was blasting Bury me in Smoke and I realized I was high finally when I was getting into the riffs way too much haha. I'll never forget that night.
