Awesome! I can't wait for this!

Also, I must say that I'm VERY surprised that I've seen NOTHING on Blabbermouth about this.

Old news? I searched this section for Red Hot Chili Peppers and didn't see any threads started on the new album. Also, since the band does get played on metal stations, I figured there might be some fans on here who would be interested.

I am VERY interested, especially since I want to know how they'll sound without John.

This band is dead to me. John was the main creative force there; you all know it.

Hopefully this time they will do an entire album of all songs just about California this time.

RHCP should just record a series of concept albums based on states.

It's not like he's been in the band the whole time.....

Yeah, but they were very mediocre at best when he wasn't. All their fantastic albums are with him. John matters in this band; it just isn't the same without him.

It will be this generations answer to school house rock.

Wrong. Freaky Styley is great. If you think otherwise, no.

NOT AS GOOD AS THE STUFF WITH JOHN

Saying that without hearing the new guy is ignorant. Josh could be better than John.

NOT AS GOOD AS THE STUFF WITH JOHN

Only album with John that's better is Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Otherwise, it's better than all the other records.

Interested to hear this as well. I'm a big fan of them with Frusciante, I love the little jams with him and Flea between songs live. I belive this band is really gonna miss the musical chemistry between John, Flea and Chad that they built through the years, especially since the reunion. Hopefully I'm wrong though and this new guy impresses me.

Side note, has everyone seen this jam of John, Flea and Omar Rodriguez? Amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFDdIIITJ08

80's RHCP is easily the best, so I don't know what this shit about "mediocre at best" is. Pre BSSM is so much better than post BSSM is ridiculous. That said, they are decent rock at this point, so I'm interested in hearing what it will sound like.

I get why people like it. I just find it bland, mediocre, and boring.

Fucking finally. Amazing live band.

I was fortunate enough to see them on their Californiacation tour(I had just got back from A nice long trip visit to IRAN and the momz surprised me with 3 tickets so I went with her and her friend). The Stone Temple Pilots were the opening band. This was ages ago so I barley remember a damn thing. I was in 6th grade. This was somewhere between 1999/2000, and it was also my first concert ever...Of any kind of genre.. Just felt like sharing my 45 cents. :D

Looks like it wasn't played yesterday, but we'll hear it for sure on Monday since that's when the single is officially released. Can't wait!

Plus the bass riff got really annoying after the first 20 seconds of the same thing over and over again.

They're playing Club Nokia on August 24th but tickets range from $125 to $400:hmm:

Not in love with that chorus, but the song in general has more appeal to me than most of the Stadium Arcadium singles.

I wouldn't exactly call The Uplift Mofo Party Plan or Freaky Style "very mediocre"

They've lost that much popularity? Wow! Unless they're doing it like a "big band at a small venue, up close and intimate" type deal. And that $400 will probably be for VIP.

Its the big band at a small venue benefit show. Its just like how Prince played a the House of Blues in Hollywood for $250 in May or Metallica played the Wiltern for $200 a few years ago.
