LESLIE WEST has leg amputated

This happened in the middle of last month, apparently. Not sure how everyone missed it!

Apparently Mountain vocalist/guitarist/founder Leslie Wast had his right leg amputated just above the knee on June 17 to stop a septic infection which started in his foot spreading to the rest of his body.

Shortly before this happened he finished recording a new solo album called 'The Usual Suspects', with guest appearances from Slash, Billy F. Gibbons, Zakk Wylde, Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Aronoff and Steve Lukather, which will be released in September.

It sucks that if he performs anymore he'll have to do it from a chair. Or with a false leg.

So damn true. Everything Leslie West has been apart of is legendary.

But I can't see that many people here knowing about him besides Mississippi Queen, which is tragic.
