View Full Version : CONCERT SHOES: What do you wear?

I'm thinking about getting a new pair of shoes that's fashionable, yet give me support at concerts. What do you guys wear to concerts? Any suggestions?

Currently, I wear New Balance Classics ML525 in gray, but I'm not a huge fan of how they look, and they're getting old and shitty. I haven't had a problem with them at concerts yet, though.

I got some Gravis Slymz II earlier this year in gray, and I think they look spiffy as hell. Unfortunately, they have absolutely no support and have basically a piece of canvas for the entire body. I about near broke my toe at Amon Amarth wearing them.

Now, I'm thinking about picking up a pair of Vans Vore Classics in black, but I'm worried they won't support or protect my feet enough at concerts. Love the way they look, though.

What about you guys? What do you wear to shows? You go for comfort, or style? Or are you wearing those shitty white high tops since you're a neo-thrash kid?

Don't hate on New Balance. They're all I wear in non-dress shoe situations. Currently I have two pair, one shitty pair that if they get stomped on and covered in dirt like shoes are wont to do at shows (or whilst mowing the lawn, or whilst riding a bike, etc.) I wont care, and a nicer pair that I wear around.

well yeah, but why would I wear those to a concert?

Currently I only have one pair of sneakers and a pair of dress shoes and that's it.

Whatever my everyday sneakers happen to be when a show comes around is what I wear to a concert.

...just all depends on what shoes I happen to have on that day, or the weather situation.

Used to wear DVS but those were HUGE and would always rip and as a result I'd be close to losing them at every show. I've switched to Vans and they're perfect for shows and in general.

Something like this:

See, this is a post I like to see. Glad to see you think they're good for concerts; I think I'll pull the trigger on getting a pair.

Oh hell, now I'm super conflicted. Should I get the Vans Era Core Classics, or these slick blue Vans SRPLS? Which one would look spiffier in jeans?!

My Etnies that I wear have never done me wrong. I tried wearing my Slayer low top Vans to a show last year and that is some of the most pain I've ever been in my life at a show.

My vans broke so now it's 100% combat boots and dress shoes.

Those VANS shoes are ugly as all hell.
They were ugly when Jeff Spicoli wore them in the 80s.

Just because it is retro, does not make them cool.

If you seriously want a combination of style and comfort, then DOC MARTENS are the only answer. Period.

Same pair of shoes I hear wear everyday, Fallen Rippers (For skateboarding fans out there, they are Chris Cole's pro model).

I pretty much only own Vans, I've made the mistake of wearing the classic canvas ones to a show before and if you get stepped on it feels like you're just wearing socks, so I usually wear my beat up mids (semi-high tops).

I wear whatever the hell is on my feet at the time. Other than what T-shirt I'm wearing, I don't put much thought into what I'm wearing to a concert at all.

http://www.zappos.com/images/754/7549837/6220-932036-d.jpgI love my New Balance. I don't have them near me, so I don't know which model they are, but they basically look like this with a gray / orange / black color scheme.

I second this.
Boots are the only concert shoe one needs. They protect your feet, they are comfortable, durable and good for stomping. They are actually the only SHOE anyone needs, but slip on vans are easy.

I wore some really comfortable running shoes to the Dillinger Escape Plan show back in April. Then, I went online and watched the crazy videos of me doing stagedives and surfin'. I looked like a goddamn fool in those shoes

And hey, fashion matters.

Brand spankin' new. I like the way they're designed; since the sides go high up, if you're stepped on from above, they absorb the impact well. I think they'll be fine for concerts.
Combat boots
I need me a pair of combat boots. They're frickin' expensive though, right?

Maybe it's the steel toe part of it? haha

Steel Toed shows are perfect if you want to increase your double bass skills. wear them all day, take them off when you start playing drums. Your feet start blazing.

High quality ones are ~$100, but they are the only shoe you need so you can sell your other 10 pairs of shoes to pay for them, and they will last for years and improve your ability to complete all shoe related tasks with the utmost efficiency.
