As most of us Vader fans know, the band has been busy working on a new album this year. Today the album artwork has been released and I must say, it's pretty awesome. I'm glad the old logo is back. Release date is August 12th!

Full article here:

Polish death metal veterans VADER will release their new album, "Welcome To The Morbid Reich", on August 12 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland and features the cover artwork of Zbigniew Bielak (DESTRÖYER 666, WATAIN). The band laid down a total of 12 songs for the CD, which was mixed and mastered in May.

Quality fan-filmed video footage of VADER performing a brand new song, "Come And See My Sacrifice", on June 12, 2011 at LVC in Leiden, The Netherlands can be viewed below (courtesy of "letthedeathmetalflow").

As previously reported, due to "family matters," drummer Pawel "Paul" Jaroszewicz has decided to leave VADER. Despite this, he committed to laying down tracks for the band's new album, "Welcome To The Morbid Reich", and taking part in the group's already confirmed concerts in May, June and July. Jaroszewicz's replacement in VADER is the "very talented" 21-year-old English musician James Stewart, who has previously played with DIVINE CHAOS.

VADER recently parted ways with bassist Tomasz "Reyash" Rejek and replaced him with Hal (HERMH, DEAD INFECTION, ABUSED MAJESTY).

VADER celebrated the 15th anniversary of its classic second album, "De Profundis", by performing the LP in its entirety. Guitarist/vocalist Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek stated, "[The fans'] response for this idea was more than great so we decided to repeat this in the future with other VADER titles, too."

VADER's latest album, "Necropolis", sold around 1,130 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD landed at position No. 19 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

I'm glad some death metal bands can still get behind using not photoshoppy/clean/digital art. This rules, based on the cover alone.

Vader is one of the most consistent death metal bands...hell, one of the most consistent metal bands...hell, one of the most consistent BANDS...of all time. Litany is one of the best death metal records ever released, and they've never had a bad album. Stoked for this.

And killer artwork!

Judging by that new song, this album will be what we've come to expect from Vader: excellent no-bullshit thrashy death metal. Have they ever put out a shitty album? It's a shame more bands can't be this consistent *cough*cough*morbidangel*cough*cough*

Saw it there at Reggies in Chicago. Different tour, since Decrepit Birth DEFINITELY wasn't there. We got Abigail Williams instead; they sucked. It was in fall of 2010 also. Felt very similar about Vader, though! I can't wait to see them again.

Edit: and I'll see ya at Origin tonight!

^ Fuck, that's right. Immolation was at the Nile show (http://www.metalsetlists.com/showthread.php?t=12331) at Peabody's in January 2010. I always get those two tours mixed up (as far as who the opening bands were).
