:rocker:

Man, Enslaved never make bad music. I'm really surprised they're releasing new material this quick, and they haven't even done a proper tour for Axioma yet.

And since this is Scion promoting this... can we have a free Scion Metal Enslaved concert!? :snivel:

I'm talking to a good friend of mine who runs a Metal radio show in Minnesota. Apparently he already received the EP and said it is great.

I'm looking forward to it even more now.

Just wanted to drop by here and tell everybody how fucking awesome this EP is. It's awesome for a number of reasons...

-The first two tracks (Heimvegen, Alu Misyrki), the only 'regular' songs on the album, almost sound like the perfect blend between old era black metal Enslaved, and the Vertebrae-ish progressive Enslaved.
-The the third track (Synthesis) is a 6 minute soundscape, which is interesting.
-Track number 4 (Nordlys) is basically a progressive rock instrumental, and it's probably the best thing about the album. Lots of creative stuff going on here.
-The fifth track (The Sleeping Gods) is a classic "viking chant" Enslaved song, which they haven't done since 1998's Blodhemn (unless you count the bonus track to Monumension), and it's arguably the best one they've done.

I really like what they're doing here. They're pushing their boundaries even further on this one, while reverting back towards their traditional black metal sound as well as the sound they had on Vertebrae. Nothing on this EP reminds me of Axioma.

This will probably be high on my year end list.
