Cleveland date is the same day as Warped.

Sounds like a great fucking excuse to skip Warped.

Do I like this band? :eyes:

Also, shouldn't you be on a plane to somewhere? ;)

Only if your government pulls its head out of its ass. Right now I don't know how I'm going to get my visa in time.

They're too busy having a voting system referendum.

Thought you had all that stuff sorted.

Yeah, me too.

Apparently the consulate held onto the visa without sending it for a week, decided to overnight it tonight (I leave tomorrow, mind you) but didn't spring for Saturday delivery so unless I figure out a way to intercept the package it's coming Monday and my flight will be gone and I'll have to spend money I don't have rebooking my ticket.

Could you not have it forwarded to your address in London?

They put the visa in your passport, so they have my passport.

That's impressively stupid.

Did they tell you who they used to send it? Maybe you could get on to them and go to their depot?

That's what I'm currently working on. They went UPS, but UPS has no records of its whereabouts at this moment, meaning likely the driver hasn't picked it up yet, and if it's still in New York, that's literally too far of a drive in that the 12 hours there and 12 hours back, even if I pick it up in 10 seconds flat (unlikely) would more than likely cause me to miss my flight.

Have you called the consolate and verbally abused them?

If you are forced to miss the flight because of their screw up, they should pay for the new flight.

The thing about the British consulate is that no human beings work there, apparently. Or none can answer phones. For $3 a minute you get to talk to a machine followed by a call center in India, both of which can tell you nothing specific. So I doubt if they can pay for anything for me.

This is just a huge fucked up situation with no solution and this week has taken ten years off my life and two inches of my hairline.

Ah the trusty Indian call centre. That's a favourite of ours.

This isn't looking good, is it? :(

Not great. Worst comes to worst I fly out Monday or as soon thereafter as possible instead, but I don't really have the money for the ticket so it turns into me begging.
