what are some good tech death bands? I know of Necrophagist(duh), Obscura, The Faceless, and Fleshgod are sorta tech death, and Wikipedia is no help as Born of Osiris and shit like Oceano are considered tech death, apparently.

I still don't understand why you applied this to Septic Flesh (in another thread). I think this is just a phrase you use for bands that you don't like.

I'm not the guy who said that, I was making fun of that guy.

Late Death. Atheist. Early Cynic.

And nothing with purple on the album cover and lyrics about space and science.

The best thing Chuck Schuldiner ever did to metal was part ways with Chris Reifert and Kam Lee so they could release albums that defined what death metal should be.

James Murphys solo records. Not all tech death, but hell pretty much every style of metal is done on those records!

You're forgetting Massacre.
And Gorguts are cool. As are Demilich. Suffocation. Hmm..not much else that ive heard. Especially not new Necrophagist style or deathcore tech bands.

Anata

THIS, I can't recommend them enough. Anata are an amazing band, I really hope they tour the US sometime before I die.

Psycroptic is pretty good too, although not on the level of Anata or Necrophagist.

Yup.

I said something about Kansas City and how we have "666" in our zip codes and they liked it.

:)

My friend who does a metal radio show is interviewing Dave soon and I might sit in on it with him.

Incredible. They arrived in SF at 6 PM and played at 8. It was fucking awesome of them to do that shit and then play a great set. Do not pass up the opportunity to see them.

Yup.

Let Dave know that downtown DC and Tucson are excellent places to have metal shows.
