Im interested in what rare or unique cd's, vinyls, dvd's, etc. you guys own. The only collecters item in my music collection is the Slayer World Painted Blood 7' they put out on Record Store Day last year.

Hmm, other than signed stuff, what's counts as rare?

I've got a ton of out of print stuff. Mostly CD singles. Not sure any of them are seriously rare.

I guess just post anything you consider a prized possession. I'd consider it rare if it goes for alot of money on ebay.

I have a bunch of out-of-print 7"s, but the only other thing I have that's considered "rare" is my Eddie's Archive 1st edition, but it's opened, so it's not as valuable.

I'd consider it over-priced opportunism if it goes for alot of money on ebay... :eyes:

I have five or six Metallica bootleg CD's, some of which are supposedly rare (and by "rare" I mean a very limited number of copies were made)... like I said... supposedly.

Jason's Second Gig CD, recorded live in Anaheim, CA on November 9, 1986
Totally Destroy Canada CD, recorded live in Ontario, Canada on April 14, 1992
Escape From the Park CD, recorded live in Donington Park, England sometime in 1995
Thrashing Thru Europe CD, recorded live at one of their shows in 1984
Dickrash CD, recorded live in Tokyo on May 13, 1989 and London on October 10, 1999

I've also got some rare tour posters. They're all German. Metallica in '86, Motorhead in 1990, Deep Purple sometime in the 1990's, Judas Priest in '86, and Iron Maiden in '86... that's where all the value in my music memorabilia lies. When I get back home on Friday I might put up some pics.

The nature of a lot of the music I buy makes it OOP in a matter of months...so lots of it is "rare." Off the top of my head:
Nunslaughter- Black: (limited to 100 copies, cover hand assembled by Don of the Dead from ripped up bible pages)
Bastardator/Children of Technology split: limited to 100 copies BUT actually 25 copies because it was the Bastardator bandanna version, as opposed to the CoT bandanna or the pin versions.
GWAR- America Must Be Destroyed (alternate cover): The limited variant of a record that had a small pressing to begin with (my guess is 4-5,000), out of print since 1993
Carcass- Reek of Putrefaction Pic disc: limited to 200 copies
Ghoul- Splatterthrash: BLACK vinyl, limited to >100 copies
Goatpenis- Mission Directive: Total Extermination: Black vinyl, limited to 30 copies

I'm sure I have some other noteworthy stuff..Later I might post all the diehard and shit that came out in the last few years even though they are worth probably 3x the amount I bought them for. One odd thing that might be more valuable than a lot of this stuff is the original artwork to an MDC 12", I don't think it was used though but someone who knows the band better than I do might know, I'll photograph it later.

Besides signed things:

I have a copy of Boris with Merzbow - Rock Dream which apparently there was only a few thousand copies made.

Promo copies of Enthroned - Tetra Karcist and Sodom - Sodom.

I dunno how rare it is, but I have an original 2xLP copy of Iron Maiden's Live After Death.

I have that too. I have a shit ton of LP's, but I'd be surprised if any of them are worth more than $40 or $50.

A SEVEN FOOT VINYL?!?!?!?! WHAT?!!!

But seriously, I don't have anything rare. I guess the rarest thing would be the Marquee hand numbered re-issues of the first three Sacrifice albums, but for all I know the original of Forward to Termination that I have is more 'rare'.

Dream Theater's Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence Gold Stamp Promo *Worth over $100...got it at a garage sale for $2)

Dream Theater Score Promo EP (not sure on how rare)

One of the original Green JellO albums before the name change *I think it was under 5,000 pressings of the one I have)

One of the first 3 copies of Redemption's Frozen In The Moment CD/DVD autographed with personal thank you's *after I named the album*

Cave In 2 song EP *one of two version ever made, very, very rare pressing*

If I can remember more off hand I'll add them, the rest of my rarities and unique music stuff is all autographs.

I have no idea! I'd assume so if they use paypal. I've purchased things in different currencies and it auto-transfers. If not I dunno...

I guess the Green Jello album I have isn't as rare as I thought.

It's the Green Jello Suxx EP. On Amazon, you can pick it up new for 7 bucks. :(

As much prog, Thrash, and as Manky will never let me forget, Djent guy. I love Bands like Green Jelly, and The Dave Brockie Experience, and other bands that add funny shit like they do. I am a punk guy as well, but most of it has gotten stale over the years, I blame the 90s.

Now I gotta listen to Green Jelly. It's been too long :rocker:

Funny enough, it was the same garage sale as the dream Theater and Green Jello promo/EPs and a shit down of non rare albums I bought for 2 bucks a piece.

Looking it up more it is the Cave in EP with Lift Off/Jupiter (Remix).

I have Hear N' Aid - "Stars" on Vinyl. I'm curious if it's actually worth anything now that Dio's passed. Unless it was a lot though, I wouldn't part with it. It's so cool to say I have. In the same vein, I have an original vinyl single of Gary Moore/Phil Lynott "Out in the Fields".

I used to own the 24K gold special pressing of Metallica's Ride the Lightning, but I recently sold it on Ebay for about $60.

I have a few Japan imports, most "rarely" Psycho Motel's "State of Mind" CD, and a CD single of Michael Kiske's "The Calling" from his first solo album. I have a copy of that first solo album signed by Kai Hansen, who played on it. Not going into detail about the other signed CDs I have, we'd be here forever. Same goes for assorted concert memorabilia.

Hear N' Aid - "Stars"

I really wish they'd re-issue a CD single of that.
