Miami, FL ---- Georgetown, Cayman Islands ---- Miami, FL

No bands yet.

No bands yet makes me sad...kinda wish they would do a smaller summer cruise like Shiprocked but with better bands. Although I'll admit I dont mind Hellyeah as to support the Pantera and Mudvayne vets and they have like 2 songs I enjoy and I like In This Moment, seven string guitars make me smile... :)

Since this is misinformation and propaganda, I might as well leak (what I heard are) the first 3 bands: Therion, Amorphis, Nightwish.
Not what I wanted but hey, supposedly they're on it.
The first part of the lineup will be announced soon.

I'd love to go to the 2012 version, but only if the lineup is more my styles. I know a lot of you guys dug the lineup this year, but out of the 40ish bands that played, there were only 2 that I actually liked.

Arsis
Exodus
Nevermore
Destruction
Gamma Ray
Sonata Arctica
Marduk
Blind Guardian
Fear Factory
Uli Jon Roth
Unleashed
Finntroll
Witchburner
Malevolent Creation
Cripper
Dusk Machine
Agent Steel
Trouble
Tyr
The Absence
Sabaton
Ensiferum
Circle II Circle
Rage
Swashbucke
Forbidden
Moonspell
Voivod
Obituary
Iced Earth
Sanctuary
Epica
Amon Amarth
Dark Tranquility
Death Angel
Saxon
Twilight of the Gods
Testament
Korpiklaani
Blackguard
Sodom
Raven

...you absolutely don't give a flying fuck about every one of these bands, except two.

Right.

Even the grumpiest, most narrow-minded fuckers on this board could find more than two bands to like on that list.

So either you're bullshitting, or you don't really like metal. Which is it?

You're right, there are 5. These are bands I would actually enjoy watching and filming:

Malevolent Creation
Obituary
Marduk
Exodus
Obituary

Sure, there are some other bands that I wouldn't MIND seeing, but wouldn't care too much if I missed :

Testament
Death Angel
Fear Factory
Arsis
Destruction

So in total, 10 bands. Not enough to justify $1200-$1300 (US$666 plus US$249 in taxes + fees; $200-$300 for roundtrip airfare to Florida). Would you spend that kind of $ to see 5 bands you like, and 5 you "kinda" like? I doubt it.

Guess I don't like metal :eyes:. And yes, I'm very grumpy. Sorry

No worries, man. I just have this irresistible urge to start typing when my B.S. detector goes off. I'm working on it. :snivel:

But seriously - it's not just about paying over a grand to see ten bands you like....it's about paying a fairly reasonable price for a cruise - which is close to being worth it in and of itself - and oh, by the way - there's a whole bunch of the best metal bands in the world on the boat with you, putting on shows, singing karaoke, hanging out in the bar or the hot tub or whatever, etc.

I would say that sounds like a pretty good fuckin' time if you can afford the price and can spare the time away from whatever you have going on at home (which is my main obstacle to going :(). If I could justify the time away from my family, I'd be all over this (and I would have gone last January, too).

Natrlhi

I think that was part of the couple hundred dollar fee.

Derelict

I think that was part of the couple hundred dollar fee.

Looking through my old emails...I paid $966 for the room, plus the $249 fee. Nothing additional for gratuity. This covered food and non-carbonated beverages on the ship.

Surely if you say you want to do it NOW then 10 months is ample time to prep the domestic situation for it happening.

Fucking Scandinavians... ;)

Won't you therefore just be able to use 5 days from 2012's allocation?

My leave year is the fiscal year, so I'll still have three months to go at that point. I'll be saving the days for 70k and Sweden Rock.

Really wish I could, but this is way too much for me. How anyone can afford $1500 per person (the $666 price block is sold out) or more for essentially a 3.5 day cruise is beyond me, especially with increased fuel costs, getting to Miami, transportation fees, extras, etc.

I'm sure we all have decent jobs enough where we can theoretically save enough in 7 months for this, but I have a hard enough time with my rent, food, gas, life bills all that.

Hell, I think and rethink over a show that is 10 miles away and costs $15.

Tickets haven't even gone on sale yet, so the cheapest block is most certainly not sold out.

As for affording it, meh, I was barely considering the cost. Logistics is the bigger problem for me.

The pricing page is correct. Last year's cruisers got first dibs on cabins in a pre-sale and they have sold out of all the ones in red. I booked mine over a month ago. However, when tickets go on sale Tuesday, they may have some open cheaper cabins.

I'm liking this lineup more than last year's. Just cant justify spending over $100 w/ airfare for this. Wish it were cheaper

I'm going to save up some money so I can hit this up in 2014 when I'm no longer in school.

We've predicted the lineup for 2014 and it's pretty weak in comparison to 2012 and 2013. You might want to save your money for something else, like the 2014 Maryland Deathfest. They're finally getting Bolt Thrower back that year. :rocker:

All the cheap rooms are sold out. You're either going to have to buy now while rooms are available, or just save up and go next year.

last year towards the end they were selling singles of some sort for cheap, but you more or less have to be in a room with people you don't know.

that doesnt sound as much fun, although do-able if i really felt like it... i could always take the money and see a lot of stateside concerts or fund some kind of other trip.

Eh, the only bands I care about on this bill are Cannibal, Overkill, and Eluveitie. Last year was definitely better, at least so far. But considering how unbelievably awesome last year's lineup was, it's not going to be easy to compete.

I am picturing Alstorm starting their set by riding up along side the cruiseship in a pirate ship and swinging on board.

Hmmm, I'd have to say last year's lineup was much stronger. This year still rules, but there were a lot more bands that I was interested in last year.
