Only a few shows announced so far. Motorhead definitely deserves the opportunity to play for a larger fan base.

This is shocking. One of the oddest pairings I have ever seen. That being said, I love the Foo Fighters and Motorhead and I haven't seen either of them. I would go to this for sure if it hits up the MA area.

>implying that makes one iota of difference to who should headline

I am just excited to see Motorhead in an arena. Will make for very good people watching. Can you imagine the little girls who liked FF within last few years hearing THE loudest band in the world. God this better be a GA show.

The couple of Foo Fighters songs that I've heard off their upcoming album actually sound pretty fucking good.

And Lemmy is IN the video for White Limo:

Don't really like Foo Fighters but I might get cheap seats if it comes near me.

Not sure why everyone is so surprised by this, i thought it was well known that Dave Grohl and Lemmy are pretty good friends.

Yet another tour in which an extremely amazing, and in this case legendary band gets stuck curtain jerking for total trite. What's next, a Kid Rock/Iron Maiden tour?

Hopefully Motorhead gets an off-date in the east coast vicinity...

total trite.

Very no. Foo Fighter's are actually a really good band, just because they get played on the radio often doesn't make them shit. Dave Grohl has done more with metal musicians than most in metal bands.

This. Totally not my thing at all, but I do actually really like a bunch of Foo Fighters songs.

When Motorhead sell out Wembley then they can headline over Foo Fighters in a "makes-sense" world, but since we live in a place called reality I am 100% okay with them opening.

Stop your butt-hurting. If Motorhead thinks they should headline they should just drop off and do their own tour, but they know the cut they will get from the Foo Fighter shows will trump what that make by themselves. It's a no brainier for them.

Namely Probot, which has members of Voivod, Saint Vitus, Cathedral, Corrosion Of Conformity, Venom, DRI, etc

they're a good band and Dave has a lot of credibility all around, good for him for taking a band like Motorhead along

People must be high to think that Motorhead could headline over them. Im sure many people like them better, myself included, but c'mon. This is a real helpful move by them to bring them out though.

Very no.

Compared to Motörhead, very yes - blunt and simple.

When Motorhead sell out Wembley then they can headline over Foo Fighters in a "makes-sense" world, but since we live in a place called reality I am 100% okay with them opening.

The important thing here is that Motörhead's going on tour again. And sound marketing it may be, it's a shame it must be in an opening slot.

foo fighters sell more albums, no one held a gun to motorhead to make them take this tour

Motorhead are on this tour because Lemmy and Dave are good friends. Motorhead have no shortage of touring invitations, and Foo Fighters could take virtually ANY band out with them as it wouldn't make a lick of difference to their ticket sales. On top of that throw down the fact that Foo Fighters are probably the BEST radio rock band going, and one of the very few who have neither sold out their sound, or sold their souls by way of reality tv or constant bad publicity. Hell Dave has gone on record saying that he never intended for the band to get famous cuz he hates the band name, he just had these songs laying around so he recorded and released them after Nirvana died so he was at least moving forward musically.

This is honestly an ideal pairing for both parties, and is a rare occurence where both the support and headliner on an arena tour are worth the ticket price. Us Europeans will probably get Twin Atlantic or some other trendy band, so count your blessings.

Anyone who thinks Motohead should headline is just stupid. The Foo Fighters are one of the biggest bands in the world.
