Venue: White Rabbit

I got to hear a few songs from the openner "These People", and they sounded alright. Not exactly sure how to describe their sound. Then there was about a 30 minute wait until Glassjaw took the stage. It's been 8 years since I saw Glassjaw on the Snocore Tour with Sparta and Dredg so I've been looking forward to seeing them again for quite some time. They played the standard set that they have on this tour. The place was packed and I wouldn't be suprised if it was sold out. They did the encore where they come out and play 5 (maybe 6) songs of their new Coloring Book EP. I hadn't heard any of these songs so not sure what order they played them in. They were giving out free copies of the Coloring Book Ep when you left the club which was pretty amazing. I don't think I've seen a band do that before. I had a great time and would definitely suggest checking out this tour if it hits somewhere near you.

Sounds like a great show. I haven't seen Glassjaw in about 6 years. I really wanted to make the drive to San Antonio for this one but it just didn't work out.

So how did those new songs sound live? I've heard the EP a couple times and I am still not sold on the new material.

They definitely sound out of place live a bit. Their tempo is much slower then the bulk of what they play live that they seem a little out of place. It's a very interesting way to end a show, but I think they pulled it off. It's hard to make an opinion of them live not having heard them at all prior. I listened to the EP on the way home, and I actually like it. I'll probably have to hear it a few more times through to see how much I'll keep it in my rotation though.
