Hello! It looks live you've discovered my favorite band. :D

The Codex Necro is, in my opinion, the perfect extreme music album and is unmatched in how fucking insane it is. For experienced listeners only! ;)

Domine Non Es Dignus (full-length) and When Fire Rains Down From The Sky, Mankind Will Reap As It Has Sown (EP) are both mainly in the blackened death metal style. I like When Fire... a bit more, but DNED has "Do Not Speak", one of their greatest songs.

Eschaton is more in the style of their next few releases, "Hell Is Empty And All The Devils Are Here" which is a lot more grindy and has some soaring "epic" vocals, and "In The Constellation Of The Black Widow" which is a continuation of what "Hell Is Empty" started. Both are godlike.

And their new album, "Passion", will be out in May and, in my opinion, is the greatest album they've put out since their first album.

OH, and their compilation "Total Fucking Necro" (which is a comp. of the EP's "Anaal Nathrakh" and "Total Fucking Necro") is straight-up awesome black metal.

So...you choose where you wanna go. :D

Okay, so my magazine reporting professor managed to hide from our class for most of a semester that he and his brother are a pretty excellent, fairly acclaimed duo in the same general vein of Simon & Garfunkel and Gordon Lightfoot. And now I'm obsessed with listening to their stuff. They have a song ("In Deep") in the soundtrack for the new Disney movie coming out Prom. Insane.

I can. Every fucking time W.A.S.P. play live in the last four years. Even on the tour where they were supposed to be playing songs from the first two discs only. But that meant rehearsing more songs, so they recycled some from the previous tour's setlist instead.

My personal favorite off the album is "A Transcendental Serenade". Great instrumental.Indeed. That song does rock balls. If you notice, there are some vocals at the very end, though. They are somewhat softened by the special effects which are used, and although it's hard to tell what's being said, the vocals are cool because they're subtle and creepy - very atmospheric. :fist:

Great review on a really amazing work. Obscura outdid themselves with Omnivium, on every single level imaginable imo. Its going to easily be in my top 5 come the years end.

Nice review, Nat. The whole album does fucking slay. Thanks, fellers. I gotta be honest - I really didn't think I'd be all that crazy about it. I was expecting three, maybe four stars going in. Obscura has always been very technically proficient in my book, but their stuff really never turned my crank on a pure enjoyment level...until Omnivium. It really is an exceptional tech death album - one of the best I've heard in years. :rocker:
