Gary Moore wasn't even on that song/album. Gary was only ever on one Thin Lizzy album. That album happens to be my favorite TL album though.

Yeah, just the one Lizzy album, and people talk about him like being in Lizzy is all he ever did. Pretty sad for the guy really. His blues solo material is comfortably his best and most important contribution to music.

And the Skid Row stuff, which I don't like, but it was pretty important at the time.

Out in the Fields and Murder in the skies are in regular rotation on my ipod.

RIP, Gary.

Very depressing news - one of my all time favorites. Will have to play a lot of GM tonight starting with "The Loner" and "Parisienne Walkways."

RIP Gary

Never heard of him. And if he didn't play on the song Emerald, then I've never heard his work. Sounds like an impressive guy though. R.I.P.

That's a shame. Weird coincidence in that I just bought Black Rose on Saturday morning.

Nice, my favorite Thin Lizzy album.

Cause of death was apparently choking on his own vomit, the same thing that happened to Bon Scott. :(

And Jimi Hendrix

This news really didn't hit me until after the Super Bowl was over and I came home to read it. He was such a fantastic guitarist, and he will be missed dearly.

This was always one of my favorite covers. His biggest hit was a typical 80's ballad called Always Gonna Love You but I loved his live album We Want Moore and those versions of Victims of the Future, End of the World, Murder in the Skies & this:

Plus I really respected the fact the ballad wasn't on the live cd. I saw him open for Rush and maybe Triumph too. He was great live.

Reports are coming in that that article from "The Sun" is full of shit, and it's just tabloid bullshit trying to spread gossip. Early medical examination revealed the cause of death to most likely have been a heart attack.

Yes, for anyone unaware, The Sun is the biggest selling English language newspaper in the World, apparently, and therefore gets its voice heard... but it's what we call a "red top". i.e. it's all celeb gossip stories and tabloid sensationlising. The kind of paper which will have photos of some actress's cosmetic surgery on the front page on the day WW3 breaks out.

Many of you will like it though. It's the home of the world famous Page 3 ;)
