I have heard a few rumblings about Uproar but not any bands in particular. I have heard they may take the tour in a heavier direction.

I am thinking we could see the following on Uproar:

Rob Zombie
Shinedown or Staind
Deftones
Sevendust
Lacuna Coil
Drowning Pool

Only seen Shinedown, Sevendust and Lacuna Coil live before from those.

Sevendust were appalling. Dullest set I saw out of 30-odd sets at a four day event.

Lacuna are alright, but not for too long. They get boring.

Shinedown I've only seen play a 30-minute support and that seemed just about right, as they only have about 30-minutes of really top-drawer songs.

Zombie I'm seeing twice this year. Can't wait.

Shinedown, Zombie, Staind, and Sevendust are all killer live. DP is good as well. Shinedown is taking the year off though, I think Staind would make alot more sense.

I've seen both the deftones and Zombie live. they always put on a good show. will definitely goes if this comes to MA this year.

I wouldn't hold out on Shinedown, asside from being told they don't plan on touring this year they've been able to go out and do their own package tour now

WOLVERINEKILLS
01-29-2011, 05:09 PM
Let me reiterate that those are guesses/predictions. That is not the actual line up. Those bands could be way off. That was just a starting point. I really think Sevendust and Lacuna will be there, Zombie is a possibility.

Magson13
01-29-2011, 06:12 PM
I hope Sevendust is NOT there. I'm tired of seeing them do a 30 minute opener set. Carnival, MAAW.... Doing yet another package tour would be very saddening.

They have, but they're also recording their new record right now

Hell one of the times I talked to them last year they said they wouldn't be touring then proceeded to announce that night that we'll see them next year

These guys like touring way too much to wait until 2012, and a festival run like Uproar would be a good way for them to kick things off

It would sell a lot of tickets, also I feel like any of these bands could be on:
Finger Eleven

Nonpoint
In This Moment
Theory Of A Deadman
Skillet
Drowning Pool
Times Of Grace
The Damned Things
Buckcherry
Burn Halo
Alter Bridge

Ozzy is playing Wacken so until he pulls out I wouldn't believe Devildriver is on Ozzfest. Unless Ozzfest is a one day event the day after Ozzy's performance at Wacken. Not sure what is up with Ozzfest.

It is possible that Uproar could be taking a heavier direction this year. Disturbed, A7X and Stone Sour is more commercial hard rock. If they get Zombie to headline and 5FDP and All That Remains on board for this year, Devildriver would fit IMO. I guess that is a big IF on those bands.

In American there are enough bands for 2 big summer metal tours. If Ozzfest ran in the early part of summer or late part of summer it could do good numbers again. Its hard to run against Mayhem and/or Uproar (even though Uproar seems more hard rock than metal).

While I am not sure, I think Uproar may look something like this:

Rob Zombie
Staind
5FDP
Lacuna Coil
All That Remains etc and so forth.

I could see a few more bands that headline their own club tours fitting in on the bill, such as Devildriver, BLS, etc. I believe Uproar will be looking to expand and turn into Mayhem under a different name with slightly more commercial headliner and second stags acts.

Well, it's clear Devildriver have a spot on a major tour in early August, because cancelling something like Wacken would be a silly move if it's not a big money-spinner tour.

And yet Skeletonwitch did exactly that.

Phil Labonte from All That Remains pretty much confirmed via Facebook that they won't be there, which is a bummer, because I love them.

If this hits Utah again, I'd probably go. Avenged Sevenfold and Three Days Grace put on one hell of a show, as does Sevendust. I've never seen the other bands, but I'm a fan of BFMV, and Seether. If Korn headlines, I'll be skipping. They have some decent tunes, but nothing I'd pay big money to see live. And I've never listened to Volbeat, so that doesn't necessarily interest me.

The best line-up would be a combination of both rumors:

Main Stage-
Avenged Sevenfold
Three Days Grace
Seether
Bullet For My Valentine
Sevendust

Side Stage-
All That Remains
Lacuna Coil
The Art of Dying
Black Cloud Collective

I just don't like Newstead that much. I don't know why, I just never have, so I've never bothered with them. I really wanted to check out their show over here a few weeks back, because The Damned Things were opening, and they blew my mind last time I saw them, and have been dying to see them again, but wound up being busy that night.

But in other news, Korn, FFDP, ATR, and Volbeat aren't playing Uproar this year. It's some radio show in Idaho, as you can see below.

Definately is, and Jason wasn't in the band very long, he joined in 2003 and the band went quiet 2 laters when their original guitarist passed away

this quote pretty much sums it up

“We’ve sold probably five times the records they have, been around probably 10 years longer than they have, have four more records than they do, we have three songs that have charted in the Top 20 at radio, two of which have made the Top 10, they have none, and they STILL get preferential treatment over us. I don’t know what they sound like, I’ve never met them, but it sucks when a band [with] powerful management tries to use another band that has busted their ass for over 10 years as a footstool. Not cool.”

A local radio station here in SLC pretty much confirmed that the line-up will be the previously mentioned one, featuring A7X and 3DG. They played the new Art of Dying single, and said "we have some news about these guys coming in a few days, but nothing we can say yet" or something along those lines. That also mean it will be hitting Utah again :rocker:

And while I'm still a little iffy on the line-up (repeating the headliner on only the second go-around is a little weak, but it seems like a lot of people wanted A7X to return, so I'm at least happy to see Uproar listens to what fans want [to a certain extent], and I'm defiantly skipping Escape the Fate), I'll probably go again this year, just because A7X and 3DG put on a great show, as does Sevendust to a lesser extent. I've also wanted to see BFMV, and Seether for a while now.

I know A7X is a huge draw, but the market of Hard Rock bands that need a US tour can't be that slim that they're already repeating mainstage bands the 2nd year, can it? At least Mayhem waited until Year 3, and their repeat (FFDP) was because it was a band that went from side stage to main stage due to increasing popularity. Are Avenged Sevenfold that much more popular now than they were a year ago?

And like I said before, if that is the lineup, the tour is likely not coming to Canada.

Well I say "no Canada" for the following reasons:

1. As mentioned, Three Days Grace are big enough to headline their own arena tours (Big NHL arenas too, not the 5,000-6,000 seaters) in Canada. Of course they're big in the States, but on a much smaller level compared to up here, so I don't think they would take a tour that involves them supporting a band in a country where they're more popular than the headliner (A7X).

2. Sevendust don't tour Canada, or even attempt to, since they always have problems crossing the border (they got detained on the BLS tour in 2009, and weren't committed to the Canadian MAAW dates). Now that could just mean that if it does hit Canada Sevendust would just not play the Canadian dates, like Airbourne did last year.

3. Seether has a headlining show planned in Toronto. This probably means nothing and we've seen bands hit the same cities on different tours in a span of months, but considering big package tours like this usually have distance/area clauses that prevent bands on that tour from playing within a certain radius of all the cities that are being hit on the tour. Now, Seether aren't the biggest draw on the tour, and the success of the tour isn't exactly relying on how many people they can pull in, but still, for a band billed 3rd on the main stage of the biggest Hard Rock package tour of the summer, i'm sure the Uproar people would appreciate the hundreds or thousands of extra people who'd show up to see them and put some more money in their pockets.

wow that much? i paid $25 per ticket and i thought they were good seats.

I would have preferred to see something like this. And the bands are in no particular order:

Main Stage

Stone Temple Pilots
Lacuna Coil
Shinedown
Three Days Grace
Breaking Benjamin
Slipknot
Foo Fighters

Second Stage

Sevendust
Devildriver
Evile
Alter Bridge
Meshuggah
Bleeding Through
Symphony X
Taproot
