WHIPLASH, ZOMBIE HOLOCAUST, VINDICATOR and DREAD are among the confirmed bands for the second annual Slaughter By The Water festival, set to take place June 4 in San Francisco, California. More acts and venue will be announced in March.

The first edition of Slaughter By The Water took place in April 2010 at the Oakland Metro. The show was incredibly successful, with 900 thrash metal fans in attendance from all over the Bay Area. The event featured performances by TOXIC HOLOCAUST, FUELED BY FIRE, BONDED BY BLOOD, GOLERS, PRAYERS OF SANITY, FOG OF WAR and many more.

Brian Montague and Nick Gomez, creators of Slaughter By The Water, commented: "We are very thrilled to bring WHIPLASH back to Bay Area. It's been over 25 years from their last show they played at Ruthie's Inn with DEATH ANGEL and POSSESSED."

Vindicator! They fucking rule. :fist:

If I lived in the Bay Area, I'd be stoked for this fest every year, much to the chagrin of Dayan.

If they can get a few more bands that I'd like to see, I'll go.

This sucked, a lot.
Save your money for Brainsqueeze in the fall, it's everything Slaughter by the Water should have been, and without the hordes of thrash-scenesters.

Are they for sure doing another of those?

I wonder if Whiplash will be playing their whole debut album at this like they are for their UK shows...

Well Scotty talks about a second a lot and it was much more successful and better organized than Slaughter by the Water so I'm not sure they they wouldn't.----- The best thing about it was the Bolt Thrower shirt some bootlegger sold me.

Goddamnit.
I actually have to go now.
Autopsy is not neo thrash so I am confused, but YAY AUTOPSY.

That's not the right way to look at it. Now they get to be graced with our presence.

:) Autopsy! :)

A semi-techy extreme death metal band at a neo thrash --fest (that also for some reason has Autopsy, who fit with neither group)?
This is turning into 'random metal band' festival ----

A semi-techy extreme death metal band at a neo thrash shitfest (that also for some reason has Autopsy, who fit with neither group)?
This is turning into 'random metal band' festival, which I can't say is any worse than the terrible festival it was last year.

Oh alright, makes sense. Well at least now theres another band you'd actually enjoy on it as opposed to just Autopsy.

Adding a few bands plus moving it to Richmond. I'll be surprised if this does too well.

I played a show in Orlando with Premunition and Zombie Holocaust a few years ago with my band Murmur (at the time we were called Legion). Both bands were great!

Oh, is that the logo on the bottom row in the middle?

That's too early for a piss break. :(

Yeah, bottom row goes Vindicator, Dread, Exmortus, Ludicra, Hatchet, Witchaven, then something.

This lineup rules. I'll probably get there in time for Exmortus then just rock out all day.

Any chance of you divulging that information?

Wizzbang11

Pretty good lineup.
----- at least it has Autopsy and Nuclear Assault. The only bad thing about the three headliners, is that if it is a 12 hour fest (and that's maximum) and there are 14 acts(plus maybe more?) Autopsy might end up playing for 45 minutes, which would be majorly lame, but certainly better than nothing.

EDIT:What the hell is with that Autopsy logo?

EDIT 2:$30+ charges for presale?Shit. I was looking forward to a cheap festival...and $50 for a meet and greet? What bullshit. I'm never paying 20 extra dollars to shake the hands and get the autograph of someone who should be hanging around the place anyway, unless the fame has really gotten to Autopsy, Nuclear Assault & co.

I was going to be filling in on drums with a band from here in Seattle. We contacted them to see if we could play, they said yes. Wrote back a couple months later asking if we still wanted to, replied with a yes, and then heard nothing back.

Oh well! Win some and lose some.

I talked to Nick from Zombie Holocaust. He said that they were still in the process of booking 4 more bands that will be touring together. He said that they are all big names.

Still some shit like Zombie Holocaust, Ludicra and presumably half of the bands there that I haven't heard yet, but at least it has Autopsy and Nuclear Assault. The only bad thing about the three headliners, is that if it is a 12 hour fest (and that's maximum) and there are 14 acts(plus maybe more?) I wouldn't count out the possibility of there being a second stage or something.
