Tool please! Or some SOAD! Preferably on Saturday, 'cause I don't think I can make Sunday!

I hear Slipknot, Staind and either Alter Bridge or Slash.

Hmmm. I wouldn't really mind Slipknot, could care less for Staind and Alter Bridge, and Slash was very boring when I saw him last year. Eh. I went mainly for Mastodon and because my friend likes modern rock like a pussy.

I would drive my 6 hours if SOAD and Slipknot was on it.

http://www.rockontherange.com/ Countdown on the site.
I'll still be in Columbus when this rolls around...probably won't go though. We never get any good shows anymore, but I'm not desperate enough to pay the price tag to see 'mainstream' metal bands.

It was pretty cool seeing Mastodon there last year, they were the only reason I went.

with confirmed bands, that's already not a bad line-up.

A Perfect Circle, Danzig, Fu Manchu, Red Fang are pretty awesome.

considering the point of this festival is to be a rock festival Im incredibly happy with the lineup
hell there are some bands(A Perfect Circle, Danzig, Finger Eleven) Ive never seen and have wanted to for many years, and some Ive only seen once or so, and hell for a short set in a festival atmosphere I can dig some of the bands I havent listened to in many years
Danzig is the major wildcard though, didnt see that coming at all

Wow that's a very bad lineup outside of a few bands.

Yeah, if this were here I'd care about BLS, Stone Sour, Alter Bridge, Fu Manchu, Danzig and... er... no, that's it.

it's a more mainstream festival, I expected this
but there's a good chunk of bands(atleast 20) that I either like or am ok with
besides Ive went the past 2 years, you dont see everyone anyway(usually the two stages run at the same time for atleast the first couple bands)

Danzig seems so out of place.

Danzig seems so out of place.
very, but that makes it better IMO
last year Helmet played and judging by the crowd for them was totally out of place, but it was fun(probably one of my favorite sets of the weekend)

I like the line up, but I don't really have a problem with mainstream. and some of the bands I don't like my girlfriend does, so...now I just hope she's not working that weekend, problem is, she won't no, so I have a risk that if I buy tickets she won't be able to go with me and then I'm stuck trying to find someone else, or not going.

I would have liked the lineup if I was still in junior high, seriously looking at the lineup, I use to listen to so many of these bands.

None of those bands are mainstream here, so that distinction is irrelevant to me.

I see, well majority of those bands are either consistantly having hit albums and singles, or did at one point, or have a song or two someone knows
they do(thankfully) avoid the REALLY mainstream bands
it's always fun though

It's not a metal festival. If I was into that kind of music, that would be a kickass lineup. But I'm not. It's a great fest for their audience. People around here eat it up too.

I like both and I think its fantastic
Im seeing bands who while have become more mainstream I still think are great, and there are always some suprises and fairly heavy bands
also this is the first time that Im attending that there are a decent number of bands I want to see that I havent seen

Besides 4 or 5 bands that lineup is terrible. I mean come on. Hollywood Undead, Black Veil Brides, Hinder, Saving Abel, Damned Things, Pop Evil, BFMV, ADTR, POD, My Darkest Days. Truly awful bands.

I will admit, I'd MUCH rather see A Perfect Circle headline over some shit like Limp Bizkit and Godsmack. Would have liked to see Tool more, but whatevs.

completely disagree, yes they have some bad bands(like 4 or 5 of the ones you listed for example) but far from terrible

The Damned Things and BFMV are pretty bad, not the worst but bad. And you named 3 bands out of like 10. So even you can admit alot of the lineup is shit. Stone Sour, Staind, Alter Bridge, All That Remains, and a couple more are worth seeing.

there's like 25 bands atleast that I either like or can tolerate
and actually I do like BFMV(albeit not as much as I did when they first came out) and actually The Damned Things album was personally one of my top albums of 2010

I was so dissapointed this year with this... Seriously? I was thinking soad and slipknot. Not perfect circle and a7x... Is a7x even big enough to headline this show?

they played under Motley Crue 2 years ago and about half the crowd left after them, theyre bigger than people think
A Perfect Circle is a suprise, but what the hell Ive never seen them so Im cool with it
as for SOAD, I think people just need to accept they will never do the shows you think theyre going to do

This.
The rest is a joke.
EDIT: Man, Red Fang is really getting around this year. They are on the Metalliance tour, Mayhem, and now this. They do have an album due out in April, but fuck me, what a badass fucking work ethic. Right on, brothers. :fist:

theyre probably the first Relapse band to do this festival(Mastodon did, but after they were on a major label)
and once again it's ROCK on the Range, therefore most of you will probably hate it
