This was my first Metallica show (their first Chicago show in like 5 years) and it was at the Allstate Arena. Openers were The Sword and Machine Head. Machine Head's sound was awful and their set was boring. Metallica was awesome. Their set had the boring regulars, but some great surprises.

I was at this show. One of my favorite concerts ever. I thought Machine Head played very well, I don't remember their sound much. I got my 3 favorite Metallica songs from this set: Ride the Lightning, Blackened, and Seek and Destroy

im so sorry this was your first metallica show. thats a terrible set. cue the apologists telling me im wrong and then post alot of emoticons.

and i know from bad metallica shows....i saw them with godsmack opening at the meadowlands (metallica was okay that night, but i had to sit through GODSMACK), and the laughable performance at bonnaroo '08.
