Velvet Revolver kind of sucks anyways.

WOLVERINEKILLS

Slash say they could get heavier. I will give it a listen. Worst case scenario is that it sucks & I won't waste any more time with it.

I'd listen to it as I dig VR when they play heavier riffs, and I've always liked Taylor's melodic vocals. It just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Shit, really? Definately a big change from Weiland. I quite like some of VR's stuff, so this should be interesting. I can't really imagine it, though.

Agreed. I just don't think the styles will mix well. but its worth a shot to see how it goes.

If they went for a slgihtly heavier, rawer, darker style of songs it could work well. Hell, with the GN'R and Slipknot/Stone Sour fan base it will sell well regardless.

I cant see this sounding good. Scot and coreys singing style are way different and i cant see Corey Taylor as a rock and roll singer.

I've heard the Corey Taylor reports as well. I could actually see that happening.

Well he can do it. Listen to Stone Sour, especially their more commerical stuff like Bother, Looking Glass, Silly World, Scars, etc.

His voice on slither would be terrible i can see it now

Slipknot, Stone Sour and now Velvet Revolver? I think Corey is spreading himself too thin. These are three very well know and popular bands he's really gonna be overexposing himself if he joins them.

I don't see Slipknot doing much more than one more album and tour.

They shouldn't even do a new album, did you hear the last one? StoneSour's(I haven't listened to their brand new one though) shit is heavier than that.

Thinking about this, I still wouldn't listen to VR.

Yes, and its their best by a considerable margin.

This would be horrible. Not even "interesting" like the prospect of Taylor doing it, just horrible.

Taylor when asked flat-out by a Billboard interviewer if he's the new VR singer: "To be continued".

This pretty much confirms it, if he's not denying it then it's true.

If Velvet Revolver was a pro athlete, it would be Brett Favre.

I'd say that confirms he's the guy currently demo-ing with them. But that's not necessarily the same as him being the new full-time singer. Perhaps they've not made that decision yet.

So I think it's pretty safe to say that he's the singer at this point.

Slash: "There was truth to the rumour that we were looking at Corey – but then I left for tour. So there’s nothing being done at the moment. No decision has been made."

Worst case scenario for VR is that Taylor doesn't get the job but they have made the Stone Sour/Slipknot fans interested in the rumors to check out VR. Which means a younger generation of new fans.

Well, not really younger... VR have been around for less time than Slipknot and as long as Stone Sour. They may have older musicians in the band, but that's largely irrelevant. Every VR show I've been to has had a very young crowd.

VR never suffered from only being able to attract the old fans of their previous bands becaue anything that gets coverage in the mainstream magazines gets a young crowd. I don't really think it will make any difference to them at all if they don't get Corey.

But if they do, then yes more Slipknot/Stone Sour fans who weren't interested before will go and see them just to see Corey. That's a certainty.
