I know this is kinda old but it is Iron Maiden. I was pumped for this show it was nearly sold out with about 15,000 packed into Dte Energy Music Theater. First up was Dream Theater i didn't know a whold bunch of their songs but they were good and I gladly choose them over some band like A7X or Atreyu. Anyways heres their setlist.

1.As I Am
2.A Rite Of Passage
3.Home Play Video
4.Constant Motion
5.Panic Attack
6.Pull Me Under

Then after a long wait it was time for the British Metalers too come on. Their set wasn't the best played alot of new songs which I didn't mind my friends I went with wouldn't stop bitching about the set. But very good show. I loved Fear of the Dark. And my favorite song off of Brave New World Blood Brothers which was dedicated to DIO. All in all very good show even without The Trooper or Run To The Hills. UP THE IRONS:blaze:.

1.The Wicker Man
2.Ghost of the Navigator
3.Wrathchild
4.El Dorado
5.Dance of Death
6.The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
7.These Colours Don't Run
8.Blood Brothers
9.Wildest Dreams
10.No More Lies
11.Brave New World
12.Fear of the Dark
13.Iron Maiden
Encore:
14.The Number of the Beast
15.Hallowed Be Thy Name
16.Running Free

Your friends suck. I don't have a problem with them playing new stuff (BNW and AMOLAD are somewhere in the top five albums of Maiden) but it was just some of the songs they chose from the new albums that pissed me off. Seriously, Wildest Dreams. Should have been Rainmaker. For the greater good of God over These colors don't run, Dream of Mirrors over Blood Brothers, Should have kept Brighter than a thousand suns, Paschendale over Dance of Death, Monstegeur over No more lies.... When I saw the show back in June (in Houston) I was not a DT fan. In fact I HATED them. The only album I heard was Octvarium and I thought that was so not metal. I went to the concert and just had my arms crossed the whole time they played. Listened to their earlier stuff (The Killing Hand, Take the time, Lie etc.) and they became one of my favorite bands. Wish I would have give more energy for then especially now that Portnoy is out. Looking back their set wasn't all that good. I can understand that they wanted to play heavier songs to appeal to the Maiden fans but they could have played A Fortune in Lies, The Mirror, The Glass prison etc.

We got Paschendale at my show. I prefer the older Maiden albums for sure, but I love BNW and really like Dance of Death.

Doesn't change the fact that they played way too much newer material.

If you want old material then you shoulda seen Somewhere Back in Time. If you missed it then it's your fault, this was a great move on Maidens part by not giving into the fat 40 year-olds and casuals and doing another tour of the boring old staples.

Yeah I thought I remembered hearing that. I think someone was just having a bad day. We has this huge debate when the tour started and it became pretty comical actually. My only point was what if someone saved up their money and this was their 1st time seeing Maiden that this was not a very good representation of their talent and best songs. I thought throwing a few gems in like Children of the Damned or The Prisoner (that were not played on the SBIT tour) would satisfy everyone but apparently the younger people on here would rather hear Wildest Dreams and No More Lies. To each his own...

After seeing the entire tour setlists I couldn't imagine them playing the 2nd worst song off Final Frontier every single night but they did. I'm glad I skipped this tour personally. The SBIT tour and setlist was incredible.

This tour was my first time seeing Maiden, and I walked away after driving 10 hours kinda dissapointed. I loved the SBIT setlist, and wanted to hear more older stuff. I must say though, I do like the fact that Maiden switches it up every tour. Something that other bands should start doing.

I've always felt this was the weakest argument of them all. Maiden did a total of 24 shows in North America on the SBIT tour and only 17 dates were in the US. They missed a lot of areas and it's none of the fans "fault" that they couldn't make it to a show that tour. If anyone is to balme it's Maiden and their tour management. They simply didn't give a lot of fans an opportunity to see them.

A lot of people, myself included, weren't able to travel at that time and attend the shows and that's somehow our fault? When any band tours they need to bring that show to as many cities as possible so the majority of their fans have an opportunity to see it. Maiden just didn't do that for the US at all on that tour.

The SBIT tour should've been more extensive in the US like this past summers tour was. They should've taken that show on the road everywhere in the US like Megadeth did with performing all of RIP. Thus, ensuring that everyone had a chance to see that amazing setlist. But they did what they did and there's nothing we can do to change that. At least they released Flight 666 so those who missed it could still get a taste of what it was like.

I think the number of dates we saw the past summer was due to the attendance of the SBIT tour in America. When they organized the dates for the SBIT tour the most recent numbers they had were from 06 and I know they played a lot of smaller venues then so I guess management was unsure of how many dates they could do in America and still sell well.

Here we go again.

Since Bruce re-joined the band, they've played far more "greatest hits" sets than other sets.

Ed Hunter Tour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ed_Hunter_Tour)
All old songs except three Blaze songs.

Brave New World Tour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brave_New_World_Tour)
Album Tour for BNW (which kicks ass anyways)
Six BNW songs
Two Blaze songs
Six old songs

Give Me Ed Tour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Give_Me_Ed..._%27Til_I%27m_Dead_Tour)
All old songs except for two from BNW and a Blaze song

Dance Of Death Tour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_of_Death_World_Tour)
Album Tour for DoD
Six DoD songs
One Blaze song
One BNW song
Seven old songs

Eddie Rips Up The World Tour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Rips_Up_the_World_Tour)
Ozzfest US Tour
18 SONGS FROM 1983 AND BEFORE

A Matter Of Life And Death Tour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Matter_of_Life_and_Death_Tour)
AMOLAD album tour (pretty much the only tour you should give less than 10/10 to)
10 AMOLAD songs
Three old ones

A Matter Of The Beast Tour
AMOLAD/NOTB Tour
Five AMOLAD songs
Nine old songs

Somewhere Back In Time Tour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somewhere_Back_in_Time_World_Tour)
ALL CLASSICS
Not one post-80's song except for Fear Of The Dark

Final Frontier World Tour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Final_Frontier_World_Tour)

Four from BNW
Three from DoD
Two from AMOLAD
One new
and still Six classics

The Final Frontier tour is pretty much the only time Maiden has revisited their newer albums without being on an album tour for them, so all the casual fans screaming for only old stuff can get fucked, for 11 years Maiden has played setlists with a majority of old shit.

edit: although yes, fuck Iron Maiden for barely touring the US

I think the point your missing is even when they play old songs they're the same fucking songs over and over again, tour after tour.

Also this last tour having nothing off Piece of Mind and Nothing off Powerslave is terrible. 3 Dianno songs and 2 Number of the Beast songs that have been played every tour since 1984 isn't exactly pleasing to me.

I'm all for mixing it up but that wasn't mixing it up to me. That tour was an attempt to sell back catalog cd's and I seriously doubt it worked since they didn't even play the best songs off those cd's in most cases.

I also agree that they don't play a lot of different old songs, which is why I especially liked all the BNW/DoD songs!

Well yeah, I don't think anyone can argue that point. Which is why I was so happy to hear 8 new songs that I've never heard before (the BNW, DOD stuff and El Dorado) then the same 80's songs I've already heard. I'd love to see some of the more obscure 80s material and I'm not sure that there's anything we can do to get them to play it but here's a thought. Maybe people should stop sucking RTTH and TNOTB's dicks and bitching every time they are not played and maybe Maiden would feel less inclined to play them. That'll never happen though.

Well, hopefully after the huge success their tour here was, they'll tour just as extensively for the next classics tour, which should be the best one of them all if it's the SIT/Seventh Son one. :D
