View Full Version : Deftones and Dillinger Escape Plan US Tour

It will be announced very soon. It will take place in April/May.

This makes me wonder if Deftones will be on Mayhem Fest. Most bands are not allowed to play in the same cities 60 to 90 days before/after a tour like Mayhem Fest/Ozzfest etc. It will be interesting to see which cities this tour goes to.

:lovedup:Sounds cool and interesting. Rather see deftones on a headline show in a venue than at a amphitheater.

Deftones are awesome, and while i'm not a fan of DEP, apparently they're nuts live.

Me too, I wouldn't mind seeing Deftones at a fest or something but DEP is one of the most intense live acts around and should not be touring with them.

i'll be there. not really a deftones fan but i must see dillinger and i'd stick around for them

If it's near I'm in. DEP is amazing and Deftones have got so much better as a live act after some of the band not being as strung out as they used to be back in the day as I've heard several horror stories of how horrible some of their really bad shows were. Chino sounds better than he has in years.

I hope they play The Palladium or the House Of Blues, but if need be I will go to Lupo's. This lineup is too good to miss.

Not sure but very rarely do bands do a US tour this close to a major headlining tour. Some bands due a few warm up shows right before a tour, but I was told this was going to be a full scale tour.

If I had to bet, I would bet towards them not being on Mayhem as of right now. I haven't really got any solid info on Mayhem this year other than Godsmack and Unearth.

I just know Godsmack canceled their tour with Alter Bridge to be on a huge summer tour. I was told Unearth was going to be on a BIG summer tour too. It sounds like Mayhem to me.

I guess we should wait and see what dates/cities Deftones play before trying to predict the future!!!

Mayhem is hitting Hartford, CT this year according to their website, and one of the dates released for this tour is Hartford. So I guess Deftones won't be on Mayhem.

Ok, The Bottom Lounge in Chicago just posted Dillinger as playing that same day, April 30th in Chicago at 9:30.

OH JESUS FUCK YES I think Dillinger is gonna play twice that night... Once for the Deftones fans who don't care, and later on for us Dillinger fans... In a small fucking venue with no rail... Oh my GOD my concert spring just got twice as good

can these bands really sell 2 days in a row at Best Buy? Seems overconfident.

AnthG
03-21-2011, 08:22 PM
Well apparently the Best Buy Theater fits 2100 people. For comparison, the Sound Academy, the venue they're playing in Toronto, fits around 3200, and they sold that date out. So they can probably at least sell the 2nd date to the point where they're not losing money on the show and expenses and shit, plus the bands can still make money off of merch and the venue can still make money off the concessions. So it's not like it's a sold-out-or-bust thing.

unless something is horribly wrong with ticketmaster's website it looks like they've sold out both dates, pretty surprising

no it's Deftones, they sold both dates out in a few days . Dillinger couldn't sell out Irving last year. They just released an album last year that was probably the most popular metal album of the year.

Even with Diamond Eyes I don't know if Deftones are any bigger than they were when they were touring with Saturday Night Wrist. They might be getting more airplay but they're still playing the same size venues they've always been playing.
