A new festival is being planned by the Rock on the Range organizers. It will take place in the South East USA. It will be a hard rock festival. Not sure exactly which city will host this. I'll pass along more info as I receive it.

Just another rock festival with what will likely be the same bands that have been at the other crappy USA ones 10 million times.

You can go ahead and confirm Disturbed, since they're on every other festival this year.

Hey man, I don't know how much you're on here but I'm wondering.

Are there alot of metal shows in SC? Or are the local scenes good?

there are not too many shows, we get some good ones every once in awhile. i usually have to travel a few hours for shows. i live in columbia where there is only one decent venue, and it's a small bar. most of the metal shows are some decent local metalcore/deathcore bands. it has a few good national acts. two months ago, every time i die and howl were there but i had to miss it because i had school the next day.

Ah damn. I'm thinking about going to school at Clemson so I was just wondering.

Ah, nice! When I visited Clemson, I wasn't very impressed, but oh well.

As for shows, it depends on how far you'd mind traveling. Greenville is about 40 min away and they get the occasional show. Spartanburg is about 75 min away, they get a little more than the occasional show, but still not as much. Atlanta (where I live) is about 2.5 hrs away. We get a lot more shows than those two cities but still, by most cities' standards, not a lot at all. We probably get around the same amount as you guys in Pittsburgh.

You've got a lot of choices in North Carolina though. Asheville and Charlotte get some shows. Johnson City is a little farther past Asheville in Tennessee. All of these are between 1:40-2:40.

I wouldn't say that at all, asside from having 11 of the 18 bands being on ROTR there's also bands like Danzig, Black Label Society, KoRn, All That Remains, etc

Ok lineup. Man music festivals these days. They need more originality.

This lineup has Godsmack and 3DG. Those 2 alone are a reason to go, plus alot of the shitty bands are not on this one. No BVB, Korn, Disturbed, Hollywood Undead, ADTR, etc.

TDG is kinda "meh" to me

TDG is killer live, and so is Godsmack. Plus I want any excuse possible to pass up on Mayhem.
