I don't have a disgruntled attitude about Dio. Dio turned the band into Rainbow with Tony Iommi on guitar, until 1992 when it was finally turned back into Black Sabbath with Dio on vocals. The reason many people don't like that album is because those same morons don't like Ozzy Sabbath.

I would move Dream Evil down to fourth but other than that you ranking's are correct.

You must be trollin, I refuse to believe that theirs such thing as a Rush fan who thinks that Fly By Night and the s/t are their worst albums.

Then you obviously don't know too many Rush fans then. Their fans consistanly rank their s/t at the very bottom or towards the bottom. Rush is my favorite band and that's where I would put their first album as well. Musically it's fine but lyrically is fuckin garbage and it kills the songs.

Except for their s/t and maybe RTB there aren't any other Rush albums i'd consider to be that bad at all. That first album was just them fuckin around and having fun. It's an OK album but nothing more. I consider Rush to have officially began on FBN because it's Neil's lyrics that has given them the idenity and the following that they've got now.

Without Peart's words Rush would've been some 70s Zeppelin clone and been done by 1980. People would be talking about Rush in the same breath as Molly Hatchet when asking 'where are they now?' if Neil never joined. Neil's lyrics have challenged Geddy and Alex to come up with the best music possible through the years. Because when you have a man who writes lyrics that good you need to have the best musical compositions possible to back up what he' saying.

It's just me and opinions are opinions, but I have no idea what everyone sees in Midnight Marauders. I mean its a good album don't get me wrong, but it was so lacking compared to Low End Theory (not to mention the album utterly dies after Oh My God.)

Wow... I'm surprised you didn't open up with "Fuck that album" or something like that. Thanks for the Honest opinion though. I love all of Tribes albums but "Midnight Marauders" is the best for me. I also grew up with that album through most of my childhood in the middle east(next to Low end theory). "8 Million Stories" "Sucka Nigga" "Oh My God" "Midnight" "Clap Ya Hands" "Electric Relaxation" are some of Tribes greatest tunes. Not only did I grow up listening to this album but it felt like an honor and a privilege to hear them play the entire album at rock the bells this past August with Wu Tang doing "36 chamber", Rakim doing "Paid in Full" and a shitload of other acts. You may not agree with my reasons for liking "Midnight Marauders" more then the rest of there albums and may think it's stupid but be it as it may.

In my opinion "Don't Sweat the Technique" is Eric B. and Rakims Magnum Opus. It has some of Rakims best lyrics and greatest songs like "Pass the Hand Grenade", "Teach The Children" "Casualties of War" "Know the Ledge" "Kick Along" basically the entire album is perfect.

I saw Rakim at some little shit hole club back in October of 2009 and when he busted out "Casualties of War" I started going ape shit hell I even started head banging ferociously while screaming out the lyrics to the song word for word.....yeah I know sounds pretty stupid but whatever, if you were there and felt the energy and power of that concert let alone THAT SONG you would understand the adrenaline rush I was having :rocker:

...then again I've seen people do way more stupid shit at hip hop shows.....I remember one time some people were trying to start mosh pits at a GZA concert during the song "4th chamber".:bouville:

Implying moshing.. Tellin ya man, these young 'uns will be flying the flag for us someday :D

Also, Powermaidens favorite Slayer album is God Hates Us All too, to be honest, I have found it to be highly ranked amongst proper die hard Slayer fans, it, Seasons and South are usually the favorites.. RIB gets very little love most of the time since its the media favorite..

Variety only matters if the change up songs are good. Variety for variety's sake sucks.

Just a few cases for DOD being their second best:
1) Best lyrics of any Maiden album as a whole.
2) Most variety of any Reunion Era disc.
3) Paschendale is their third-best song ever.
4) Every song is very good - that's 11 very good songs, more than any other Maiden album can boast.

There are others, but I'm tired/brain-zapped.

I don't see anything wrong with DoD being your second favorite. It usually rotates around somewhere in my top five. It's a great album and I love the atmosphere on tracks like No More Lies, Paschendale, Dance of Death, and Face in the Sand. Too bad it's got the worst album opener in Iron Maiden history.

1-3 are virtually equal. A Night at the Opera doesn't suck, but ATTWS is head and shoulders above everything else on there. Battlefield is my next favorite and it's very good, but after that there's a big drop-off for me. I guess I mostly like BG because they're power metal that doesn't sound gay, and so much of that album sounds so gay.

I can really relate to that, hell it was almost all I was thinking about in the week leading up to the AMOLAD release due to a personal issue that had a big impact on me. Bleeding Me has to be one of my favorite Metallica songs. Outlaw Torn is almost as awesome too. I think it's just a great rock album and it's oubvious they were listening to stuff like Kyuss and COC at the time. I agree it's a little long though.

When Cliff played those Kill Em' All songs live they were tenacity personified and worlds better than on the cd. Personally I'd rather hear Metal Militia, Jump in the Fire, No Remorse, Phantom Lord, Whiplash and maybe even Four Horsemen than just about anything else they play. If I'm honest, on a good day, Load would probably get more listens than Black, based purely on the fact that those songs are actually good/great songs, they're just not Metallica songs. If they were done by any other band, I reckon they would be regarded much higher.

Death Magnetic is just meh, it really is so very, very bland. Unless something remarkable happens, they are gonna keep churning out unimaginative, half-baked thrash/heavy metal albums, because they know full well they don't need to work to keep their fans. Reload is essentially very boring, if Load and it were people, they would essentially be Drake and Josh. Load is Drake, filled with charm, and much easier to listen to and be around, Reload is Josh, it tries to be Load, and even though it has its own charm, the conversation just doesn't last and you find yourself drifting back over to Josh. That being said, in small doses, like if something off it comes on when you have your iPod on shuffle, Reload really endears you to its cause.

Sorry, I love Vikingligr Veldi and I think its a great album, but I think that their other 'black metal' albums (HL, Eld, Frost, Mardraum, Blodhemn) are better. I think at the time they recorded VV there was still a great deal of immaturity on their part (musically and age wise, Ivar was like 15). Lifandi Liv Undir Hamri, and Vetrarnott would probably be better if they didn't repeat the same three riffs for 10 minutes. Don't get me wrong though, I love the album, I just think the other ones are better.
