"You'll notice that the weird sounds from "Viginti Tres" seem to be in sync with the melody of "10,000 Days." That demonstration doesn't include "Wings for Marie", though, which has the most impressive part: Near the end, the vocals from both songs alternate almost perfectly, forming completely different lyrics.

The band has never acknowledged any of this, but if you listen to the full song it's pretty obvious that they did this intentionally ... which is both mind-blowingly awesome and a little bit insane."

I'm not a Tool fan, but this is what I understand:

There are three Tool songs, two shorter ones and one longer one. The two shorter one's, when put together, are the same length as the longer one and when you combine the long song and the two shorter (now one long) songs, it creates one song using all three parts.

And after all that effort, it STILL sounds like crap ;)

Are you implying there are times when Tool doesn't sound like crap? ;)

Not at all. I'm implying that no amount of overlaying or fucking about will get them to sound anything other than crap.

Tool rule, and that track is pretty cool, and with the intricacy it would've taken them to put that together, wow.. They're amazing song-writers and artists..

I think the Radiohead/In Rainbows one is the most interesting. 10 years apart and if you alternate tracks, it creates one album.

That would be great if they didn't pawn off 10 year old tracks on fanboys as a new cd though. Think about it...
