Hey guys. I figured the drummers here, or the ones who like looking at drumsets would like this. I just got a new drumset, for free, from my old guitarist in my old Metal cover band. Long story short, he no longer has room for his kit and he gave it to me.

I just picked it up yesterday. I was planning on taking pictures and video today, but unfortunately, if you've seen the weather in the midwest, I'm not able to leave my house due to the snow. So I won't have pictures or video for probably a week or so *another long story that is boring*

so in the meantime I made this kit builder version of my kit, Hope you guys dig it:

Haha Thanks. :D

Real pictures will be up tomorrow or Tuesday. I only got to play them once last week since all my band practices canceled along with my drum lessons I was suppose to teach.

Good, just the thought of getting such a nice kit for free is kinda crazy.

It really is. Myself and Benji Hellwig of American Head Charge are the only guys who have ever played this kit. *My guitarist and Benji are good friends*

But it goes to show you if your not a dick in life, and be good to people and good things can happen to you. It did for me.

I can't wait to start playing live with these drums. The one thing that sucks is most venues I'll be playing at *basically every non-Metal show, which are a lot* I'll have to play with only one bass drum since my cover band's mixer does not have room for two bass drums. But I have a double pedal so it will work out.

2 Bass drums is so different then a double pedal. I'm, still trying to get used to it. I still prefer the feel of a double pedal, but I'm not going to pull a Joey Jordison and have 2 bass drums, but only use a double pedal. That's just poserish.

That's pretty cool man, I like American Head Charge. I play guitar as a main instrument but I got a drum set (which is actually probably too nice for someone my skill level :D) and have played around with it a little bit. I've seen you play in some of your vids and was pretty impressed, do you have any tips about the maybe the best/fastest way to get better? Or how to practice double pedal technique?

I dig American Head Charge a little bit, but my guitarist constantly gives him shit about it. Benji can play Satriani riffs out the ass, but he was in American Head Charge. I guess whatever sell.s :D I am supposedly suppose to play on his solo album, but that was 2 years ago, so my guess is that it won't happen.

Thanks man. :rocker: My best tip for gaining double bass strength is basically just play along with your favorite songs. That's all I ever did. I never did any outside practice of double bass by just doing 16th/32nd notes for a half ho0ur a day. I just put on my headphones and played along with Opeth, Dream Theater, Metallica, etc.

Gene Hoglan said it best in a recent video interview. Drumming is 90% mental and 10% physical. Once you gain coordination, you can do anything you wanna play as long as you can mentally play it. That's how I can play along with Strapping Young Lad. :flame:

So yeah, once you build up the double bass coordination, just play with all your favorite songs, it will become natural.

Thanks man.

I don't remember the link since I've had it for over 2 years, but the software is called Kit Constructor.
