Few Things:

1.) Tenacious D over Avenged Sevenfold, finally there is some justice in the World.

2.) What the fuck is Funeral For a Freind doing headlinging over Alice In Chains?

3.) If this was in American I'd probably go and have a great time.

Is that in a picture form cause I can't read any of the bands...
can someone write them out in text outside of the pic?

Well, SOAD and Avenged Sevenfold are correct. And the rest is 100% believable, so who knows. Probably worth questioning why Soundgarden and SOAD's logos are suspiciously in the same font.

If this is the real line up I will be there.. Sweet Jesus that'd be a dam good weekend..

It's clearly a homemade poster. The question is, is it made with inside info?

The line-up does nothing for me, so if it did turn out to be accurate, I would skip it. Even if it didn't clash with the always-superior Sweden Rock.

I'd stick with Graspop too. Download really shouldn't be rewarded for its blatant attemps to drawn the teenage pop-metal crowd.

i wish they planned specific genre days. i don't like how shitty bands(BMTH, ADTR) are on seperate days. If they are goona be there at least make all the "hardcore, metalcore, crunkcore, corecore" bands play on the same day.

Here's what's funny. The Gaslight Anthem, who plays right before them, has headlined both The Beaumont Club and the Midland Theater, and Pennywise was on the mainstage at Warped Tour and also played the Beaumont.

Bowling For Soup has only ever done the Jackpot.

Looks ok to me, could be real....although this would be the 6th straight year Metallica would be doing UK/European festivals

Other way round here. Bowling For Soup are much bigger than Pennywise and Gaslight Anthem.

Next official announcement is expected next week, and the main booker has already stated a bunch of rumoured headliners are absolutely not playing. All the ones he listed are not on that poster (Ozzy, VH, Zombie, Green Day, Blink 182 etc.).

BFS have no business opening up for local bands @ The Riot Room. Even listening to mindless crap in high school I could never tolerate them. Oh to live in Europe.....

Is Within Temptation really big enough to have that slot in the lineup on the main stage? That suprises me a bit. I actually like them quite a bit but I thought they were pretty unknown outside of their home country.

Good lineup though if this is legit. I an pretty much going to guarantee Soundgarden will be there since they are clearly trying to build momentum toward a full US tour by playing festivals and what not to let people know they are around and more importantly that Chris's voice has made a bit of a miraculous recovery. I'm thinking the US tour for Soundgarden will be late summer/fall 2011. Thats just my hunch.

I bet if Metallica is headlining we will get a very interesting setlist from them since they are done with the Death Magnetic tour.

Well if Metallica is going ahead with this "Epic Wall" Thing Download would be a good place to do one of the shows

Thats good to hear. I haven't been following them that much but they are good. Did they ever tour the USA? If they did I must have missed it.

I think they've done 2. I'm pretty sure The Hottest Chicks in Metal tour they did with Lacuna Coil in 2007 was their first US tour. Then they did a headlining NA tour later that year. I remember having to miss a headlining show they did in Toronto in 2007 because I was seeing Katatonia on the same night.

I went to that show, and I thought they were bad ass :) There were a lot of Within Temptation fans. The chick does some weird arm movements when she sings though.

Linkin Park as headliner. Rob Zombie also confirmed.

Neither are on the poster...

There's alot of posters around like the one you posted before, they're basically peoples 'wishlists' or 'dream line-ups' and can be creaed by copying/pasting.

I have been a regular festival attendee for both sonisphere/reading/download.

Is it me or are these festivals getting worse? Just looked at sonisphere and biffy clyro have been announced headliners along with slipknot, as well as this the download announcement of linkin park/soad.

This sucks for me so far...i really like slipknot and thats about it. Where is the old school act for both festivals?

Old skool @ soni:
2010 - maiden, 2009 - metallica,

Old skool @ DL:
2010 - ac/dc + areosmith, 2009 - Def Leperd, 2008 - Kiss, 2007 - Maiden, 2006 - Metallica + guns n roses

It has completely gone shit...i know im probably panicing, but festival prices are way too high, and I want some quality for my money. I respect the announced bands but i wish for some old school metal/80's rock acts to be confirmed.

I know they're all getting old and it is probably time to allow new acts headline. Is this a result of the late 90's/early 00's? Where metal was dead and nu - metal was born? I'll be honest i did grow up in this era, but i cant stand this shit any more...I just hope the next announcement does not let me down, otherwise im possibly not going to any festivals this year.

What is it like in the U.S? Do you guys get alot of older bands headline major festivals?

Does any like seeing these line ups of the nu-metal/recent acts headlining (by this i mean hard rock/supposedly metal bands that dont play solos')?

Please share!

We all know the good bands are Alice Cooper, Alter Bridge, Danzig, Clutch, Thin Lizzy and FM. The rest of the selections are typical pandering to the "next big thing that will never be".

New line-up. And apparently they are awesome. Ricky Warwick on vocals (which actually always meant they would be awesome by default) and Viv Campbell on guitar.

Also, Mr. Big, fucking YES!!!

For what they are, they are dam good at it. They are a cover band, they haven't even released any new material.
