According to the official blog of Francis Zégut, host of the show "Pop Rock Station" on the French radio station RTL2, SYSTEM OF A DOWN will perform at the Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy in Paris, France on June 6, 2011. This is expected to be one of many gigs the reunited band will perform in Europe during next summer's festival season. An official announcement on the matter, with more details about the group's future plans, could come as early as next week.SOURCE (http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=149633)

But if they come around, I'll be there.

Son of a bitch I thought I'd post this first. Leave it to Fonz. Damn good news. Hopefully they will do more than RATM where they did just the hipster (*ahem Coachella) type festivals and do an actual proper tour. Hopefully this will kill of the solo Serj stuff that was really not doing anything for me. I think we all saw this coming...we just weren't sure when. Hells yea!!!!

Great news indeed! I saw them at Ozzfest 2002 and they just blew away everyone else. My regret was not seeing them more; now hopefully I can do that:rocker:

Scars On Broadway= Sucks and made no money
Serj Solo= Sucks and made no money
SOAD Pre-Mesmerize/Hypnotize= Awesome
SOAD Mesmerize/Hypnotize= Sucks
SOAD Hiatus= Needed
SOAD No Longer On Hiatus= $$$
New Album *hopefully*= Daron stops trying to sing lead and just stick to the damn guitar.

Just like the tour that was rumored in 2007, and 2008, and 2009, and 2010. Big whoop, another rumor.

Mezmerize/Hypnotize was the worst shit ever, soad is dead. I'd rather never see them again than see this shitty corporate version of them.

I'm sorry, but Daron ruins both albums for me. He's not meant to be a lead singer. Why the fuck does he keep trying? Had Serj taken lead vocals on all the tracks, it'd probably be my 2 favorite SOAD albums, but that is not the case.

I used to be a SOAD fan, and then I saw them on Ozzfest 2006 before they went on their hiatus. It might actually have been the most disappointed I've ever been with seeing a band I liked at the time. I don't know if they were just totally uninterested in playing, knowing they were going to be taking the hiatus soon or not, but it was a bad enough experience that I haven't listened to them since.

I saw them in 2005 and they are actually one of the worst livebands I have even seen. They just stood still and had no energy whatsoever on stage.

And yes

S/T and Toxicity = quite good
Hypnotize/Mezermize = awful shit

I am beyond excited for their reunion. If they tour the States I am there in two seconds.

On the topic of Mezmerize/Hypnotize,personally I love both of those records.

About time. I love it when metal bands write political lyrics, can't wait to see what they come up with if they make a new album.

Mezmerize and Hypnotize are my favorite system of a down albums. I have no problem with Daron singing.

I saw them on Ozzfest 2006 and they were fine. I wasn't even a big fan of them yet.

SoaD shows have always been a blast for me. Last time I saw them was with The Mars Volta, so hopefully they will come around with someone equally amazing. I'd be game for a SoaD/Clutch/Giant Squid tour, I think that would go well together.

I actually loved Mezmerize when it came out - I never minded Daron on lead vocals, but agree that he's a much better backup singer, because I really like when he harmonizes with Serj.

Since they were one of the bands that got me interested in this whole thing, I'd like to see them. Hopefully they'll be on okay terms with each other.

Mezmerize/Hypnotize are two of my all-time favorite albums, so all you haters can go stick a shotgun up your asses and pull the trigger.

Anyway, the second any sort of NY/Tri-State area date is announced, I will fucking be there.

If SOAD does gayhemfest, then that's proof they're only reuniting for money. If they gave a shit about the music and fans, they will headline their own tour and do more than a 60 minute set. But I don't see them wanting more than just a quick paycheck, like with the corporate cocksucking they did on mezmerize/hypnotize.

I'd rather them do their own tour but if I had to settle for them on Mayhem that would be ok too. As long as they don't say the get back together and then to the hipster-Coachella-type festivals and do 3 shows and they call it a "comeback".

i'd imagine them doing Mayhem Fest next year, then followed by an arena headline tour. i have a HUGE that they're doing Mayhem Fest 2011, it'd make a lot of sense. what other metal band is reasonable and popular enough that would headline Mayhem Fest besides the ones that already played? maybe Megadeth? i somewhat doubt that though. i got my money on SOAD headlining it.

I dont want them to play Gayhem. On a comeback tour you should play more then 1 hour and Gayhem would sell out too fast (that wont matter if the lineup sucks as hard as this years though).

Just from a little stuff I read based on Rammstein selling out the garden in no time I thought I was getting the impression of Rammstein headlining Mayhem would make a little more sense while they still have momentum in North America. Again I could be wrong but I know I've read that more than once.

Amphitheatre shows sell out all the time, you just need to have a big enough draw. When soad did their tour with Mars Volta in 2005, it sold out the amphitheatre here, where gayhemfest always goes. So if soad wants an easy paycheck and does gayhem, it'll sell out. Cheaper tickets, better & more support, the amphitheatres would be packed.

This.

I saw them in 2002, and I've never been more annoyed at a concert. Daron was the main problem, his guitar playing was sloppy as fuck and just his entire stage persona made me want to climb up there and punch him the face. The experience did the same thing to me... I haven't listened to a single SOAD song since, other than when they come on the radio.

:tp: Just because a band is sloppy live doesn't mean you should completely stop listening to their music.

Anyone else notice that their hyping this like it's been soooooo long and their finally reuniting after decades apart but it was really only 5 years? Bands have not done anything for that long and didn't call it a hiatus/break up or anything.

I don't care how egotistical a band is. As long as the music is great, I'll still listen.

I can see your point in some cases, but not SOAD.
