I missed the opening act TessarecT and got to the Palladium at around 9:05. Over the PA, Ziltoid Radio was playing hand-picked songs from Ziltoid himself....this included dance-hits such as Barbie Girl, I Kissed A Girl, and Stayin' Alive
Dev got on at 9:15 and was having some sound issues. There were sound problems throughout the show, most notably at the beginning of Addicted. The Palladium is known for awful acoustics, but there was def something wrong with the amplifiers. All problems aside, Dev & company were spot-on. Personally, I think the setlist could have been better, but he covered a little from most of his albums, so everyone was bound to go home happy. Hey, it’s Devin Townsend, you can’t go wrong.
Dev basically owned the stage and interacted with the crowd throughout. He picked 3 guys and 3 girls to come on the stage and dance during Bender and when they were getting off afterwards, he threw in some commentary about Canada and America…good stuff.
Got myself a Ziltoid shirt on the way out. Most of the merch had been sold, but from what I could tell, there were DTP hoodies for $35, Ziltoid shirts for $20, an Addicted shirts for $20, and DTP logo shirts for $20. All in all, ‘tis was a great show.
