HALF LIFE 2 EPISODE 3?

Anyone fans of this epic series? I am a huge Valve/half life gamer. Anyone here play and enjoy the games immensely? and if so what are you're thoughts on Episode 3? Its been 3 years since half life 2 episode 2 game came out, valve is been taking there sweet time... Some people have lost hope and think the series is done for and there is no more plans for a sequal....I hope thats not the case :( especially after how episode 2 ended :hecho:

Motherfucker I am really mad at Valve for delaying this shit as long as they have. Nothing from E3, nothing from TGS, nothing from PAX, and their huge announcement earlier this month was just fucking DOTA 2.

It's been more than three years since Episode 2. The time between episode 1 and episode 2 was about a year and four months. The time between HL2 and Episode 1 was about 1 1/2 years. The time between HL1 and HL2 was six years. Since it's been more than half the time that it took to get HL2 to come out from HL1, I'm pretty much convinced that there will be no episode 3, but instead will be Half-Life 3.

I'm okay with Portal 2, but they need to calm the hell down with TF2 hats and stupid updates and no more fucking L4D expansions.

I feel you on that man. Half Life 2 is easily one of the greatest video games I have ever played in my 20 years of living...

I think what made HL2 stand out the most was the goddamn atmopshere....jesus christ.

Especially the "Driving" parts of the game. I just loved breathing that open air *while the combine was on your ass hightailing it*

Episode 2 is even better IMO....goddamit valve....stop taking so goddamn long :(

I dunno, are you playing the "sequal" that had nothing to do with the first game, aside from a few cameo's from old characters, in order to just show off Valve's cool physics effects? Or how about the game where you just drive a shitty car for 100 levels while fighting either giant crickets or SWAT guys in a city ripped right from Orwell's story. They didn't even bother to make the driving part work smoothly, it was all choppy and hard to steer, I'm pretty sure the last level of episode 2 was just the developers trolling the fuck out of their fanboys.

I liked the game, it was a lot of fun, but I didn't jizz my pants over it. And despite whether it was even a good game or not, theres absolutely no good reason why episode 3 wasn't released 2 years ago.

I think it's just the PS3 version. I owned a copy of the Orange Box for xbox-360 and I had no loading problems what so ever .....went by quick actually.:cool:

The concept art from a few years ago looks amazing, and the fact that they'll return to "genuinely scaring the player" sounds promising.

And the computer I took to college from 2007 - 2011 was a piece of shit (seriously, it was maybe 8 - 10 years old?) so I couldn't play PC games even if I wanted to. I think Valve is going to wait until the next gen consoles (Xbox 720 & PS4) come out and see what it can it do in the future rather than start making a game right now. I don't think there is going to be an Episode 3 just Half-life 3. As long as Valve never says that they are done with Half-life the series than I will continue to anticipate with great expectations when the announcement does come no matter how long it takes.

I just looked it up and the most recent Half Life news is the reveal of a Gordon Freeman action figure so I don't see why sepulwizard is giving up hope. I think the next Half Life is going to be Half Life 3, not episode 3. I think it's taking such a long time because along with the release of the game they are going to introduce a whole new engine (similar to how HL2 was the first big game to utilize the source engine).
