at Gibson Amphitheatre, can't believe no one posted this yet, total OH FUCK moment during Megadeth's set when they did Rattlehead with Kerry King. One of the reasons I stopped going to see them rather quickly after the Rust In Peace tour was because they obviously disowned that album by then.

That must have been cool. KIMB is a great album and more material needs to be played from it (Last rites/loved to death, Looking down the cross, the title track etc.)

Fuck they did Caught In A Mosh too? I thought I only missed most of Madhouse because I walked in towards the end of it. Fucking security outside said they think the show didn't start yet because they were still trying to get people in. Should've know it it was too good to be true. Oh well, wish the set was longer but it was great seeing them with Belladonna though I prefer seeing Neil Turbin singing "Metal Thrashing Mad" with the Deathriders.

I bootlegged all 3 sets with the exception of the 1st 2 Anthrax songs since I wasn't there yet. Fucking traffic!

Fucking LA traffic made me miss the band I wanted too see the most

Oh well, Megadeth kicked major ass last night. They should have headlined the whole tour. Slayer were disappointing, aside from Lombardo, who absolutely destroyed last night. They seem to just want to play and get off the stage as quick as possible.

Oh yeah, and I bootlegged Megadeth and Sleyer too. Looks like everyone recorded it

Agreed, Slayer hadn't really impressed me much live. It seems forced. Lombardo is simply amazing, though

Yeah good thing Megadeth made up for the shitty traffic by playing Rattlehead haha. We got screwed getting there cause it was the same night as Universal Haunt, so everyone was heading to the same place, and the rain made everyone want to go slower. Fucking sucked! I finally got in right when Megadeth was playing Holy Wars. They stole the night. Slayer's set was not too impressive. I was hoping they would pull something awesome out since it was the last night of the 2nd leg of their tour playing Seasons. I was still happy singing a long to Aggressive Perfector again:party:

good to know I'm not the only one who got fucked out of Anthrax cos of traffic. I got there in time for a snippet of Metal Thrashing Mad(from outside though) and I Am The Law. That alone though makes me want to see them on a headlining show. Rattlehead did definitely make up for no Anthrax and no Anthrax shirt

I think I could have gotten there on time but it didn't help that I had never been to the Gibson before and got a little lost at citywalk and I had only been there like twice. But fuck it took me over an hour to get there cuz of the damn 101 fwy

Yeah I noticed that too. I was expecting Tom to speak more to the crowd like Dave did but we didn't get shit except for a few thanks here and there. Megadeth definitely stole the show and I went mostly for them since I had never seen them before. Both bands had some negatives though. A lot of the times it sounded like Daves voice was going, like I could barely hear him and when it came to SLAYER I couldn't hear Jeff's guitar for shit! Or was it because I was to the right of the stage?

Mustaine has sounded like crap this whole tour. Think his voice is shot.

The volume for Megadeth was a lot lower than it was for Anthrax. Which was weird.

Dave's voice went on the higher actual SINGING parts  like he basically just talked the verses to RIP...Polaris and only sang the chorus  and I was far from from the stage and Jeff's guitar was waaayyy low. It wasn't very well balanced between him and Kerry's at all.

I recently went to the Slayer/Megadeth/Anthrax Show here in Hollywood at the gibson ampitheater in Universal Studio on thursday the 21st of October and let me tell you....Coming from someone who also went to the Epic and amazing Slayer/Megadeth/Testament show in Long beach at the Long beach arena..

THIS SHOW SUCKED TREMENDOUS AMOUNTS OF BALLS

I will go as far to say this is probably one of the most disappointing metal shows I have ever been to. Its funny considering the fact that it was the Last show of the tour and the last show for america for all 3 bands...You would think they would put on an epic show seeing how its the LAST SHOW OF THE TOUR...

But nope......Slayer is my favorite band of all time(Next to sepultura classic line up)....I have seen slayer numerous times in concert...they are simply one of the greatest bands ever to put on a live show...nothing like it...

But thursday night......wow...Can you talk about "NOT GIVING A SHIT"...right after megadeth was finished slayer came out in 5 minutes and it was getting late and this venue was at universal studio so they had a very strict time to close.!! no one even took the time to tune/work on there guitars...THE ONLY guitar that was audible the whole show was Kerrys!! It was horrible!! Toms Bass was inaudible and Jeffs guitiar was so goddamn low you couldnt here any of his solos or anything NOTHING..!! It was terrible and extremely sloppy hearing Angel of Death and Raining blood with only one guitar being played....The whole time i just kept saying to myself "Oh god this would be so much more epic if there was atleast ANOTHER FUCKING GUITAR IN TUNED WITH THE OTHER"....Daves drumming was flawless none the less...and toms vocals was spot on as usualll...but there performance was pretty bland and sloppy.

I can not say same for the Long Beach Arena show they had in August....Good god that show was fucking epic...Slayer was just amazing...words cant explain...anyone on these forums who went to the Long beach show will vouch for me on this one....Slayer sounded so amazing especially with Jeff and kerry and Toms guitars all tuned in together and super SUPER LOUD all meshing in perfectly during there awesome performance....not only that but the Long beach arena pit IS HUGE!!! HUGE I TELL YOU!!! The pit like takes over the whole arena!!! There must have been like 5 circle pits going on at once!!!............it was beautiful...thousands upon thousands just goin apeshit..

At the show they had last week in Hollywood that sorry sack of shit of a pit could only fit maybe a capacity of a 100 people.....and there was no mosh pits what so ever..not one...maybe like 1 but with only 4 or 5 people in it and i wouldnt count that joke as a pit.......in other words this venue was totally made up of Seats and Seats only....and they where very strict on the *stand or stay in your seats but dont go rowdy* rules...i didnt listen and got warned abunch of times untill i got my assed kicked by security during angel of death and got kicked out of the show... but i dont really wanna go into that...f**kin security abusing there goddamn power....

Over all the Long beach Arena show was a flawless 10/10 Slayer was epic megadeth was good and Testament killed especially with that WALL OF DEATH!!!...and the pits where just apeshit..good god..

The hollywood show last week gets a sad 6.5/10....I dont care about anthrax...Megadeth sounded amazing the sound guys worked really hard to make sure they sound spot on...and then slayer came on 2 minutes after them with only one guitar working and daves drums *in the backround* making some sort of noise.....If the sound techs had of taken there sweet time like they did at the long beach show slayer would have killed that shit.....deffintley wasnt worth the 2 hour drive but hey if you love and are a devoted fan of a band you like then maybe youll make a trip once in awhile...

also i could give 2 shits about crowed interaction....i didnt come to talk to the band i came to see them rip shit apart...as far as topic creators post...I think you must have gotten a bad day because Dave was talking to the crowed so much at the hollywood show....probably every 2 songs he would talk to the fans and crowed...

Dave also announced at the hollywood show that the big 4 is coming next year to america and he braught out kerry king to play Rattlehead off Killling is my b.......i went apeshit during that!
still not even that could save this below average concert...theres my 2 cents...

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the rager was seated/standing on a far side of the stage? Cause Slayer pans the guitars left and right live. I've had the "pleasures" of experiencing a show only hearing Kerry and only Jeff.

I was like in the center acctually and I had really really great seats too. Did you attend this gibson show last week? The only guitar that was audible was kerrys. I also went to the Slayer/megadeth/testament show in long beach on august 30th at the long beach arena and that show was one of the greatest metal shows I have ever been to.

The testament wall of death was just beautiful I tell you:rocker::rocker::rocker:

not only that but jesus christ kerry, jeff and toms guitar were so freaking loud, i just remember when they played seasons in the abyss(the SONG not album)I remember how loud and explosive it was when jeff and toms guitar come in after Kerrys little creepy ballad in the beginning....at the gibson show The only guitar i could hear was kerrys and that was it...it sounded so wierd not having 2 other guitars meshing into making the song the epic masterpiece that it is....did anyone els who went to the show notice that? if not then youre just indenial and dont wanna admit slayer gave a sloppy performance....

this is my 5th time seeing slayer and this is the first time they ever gave a truly "bad" performance, hell alot of people on this thread are even saying they weren't too impressive...it wasnt there faults, blame it on the gibson for not giving a damn and tunning there guitars....shit slayer came on like 2 minutes after megadeth....at the long beach show it took them 25-30 min and it was because the sound guys and sound techs where PERFECTING the guitars making sure they tear you a new asshole when slayer comes out...good god they where fucking brutal......Fuck the gibson...:finger2: straight up....
my scars and bruises from the punk ass security is still in healing process from the gibson show:tp:

San Manuel and Long beach right? All kerry dude. The band was tight in my opinion but they just didn't seem to want to be onstage. Long beach was more personal and I was far away. Did you go to the Long beach show with Testament and Megadeth aswell? didn't slayers play an epic show man? are we even talking about the same show? You say Tom had a speech but at the long beach show the only things he said was thanks for the people showing up and then he said good night untill next time....at the HOLLYWOOD show he did have a speech though about underage drinking ahahaha, i just wanna know if where talking about the same show...If anyone here went to the long beach show at the long beach arena you can agree with me 10000% that slayers performance was a hell of a lot better then then Gibson in hollywood(if you attended that one too).....there performance was flawless....sadly i cant say that about the gibson

Slayer's intro with the sheet and world painted blood got me amped at long beach and that just set the mood for their set. And yeah man I'm talking about the speech at the end of the set at the Gibson show; I thought it was lame. I get why and stuff but I thought it was lame that Tom had to do it. And I thought Slayer played well but their performance was lacking energy from them, it felt very impersonal alongside all the other things with the sound and stuff.

those are videos of slayer playing the song "Seasons in the abyss" at the long beach show at the long beach arena....wow and you're going to call this performance sloppy?..listen to jeff as his guitars explode right after kerrys creepy intro.....This performance is a flawless 10/10...both videos are from different angles and from different people who were at the same show...but there both amazing quality and you can hear Jeff beautifully...your ears must have not been working that night dude....cause it most definitely was not all kerry king

Heres the crappy gibson hollywood show of them playing the same exact song..like the one above.....all i here is kerry, No tom or jeff:confused:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1im3fYNx8E

You can not hear jeff at all....such a bummer...now compare this to the long beach one....HUGE...HUGE DIFFERENCE...jeff is totally mute on this one...it pains me to see or hear this since I like jeff way more then kerry.
:(:(:(

Watch both long beach and hollywoods show, there is a HUGE difference....and you're going to tell me you cant hear jeff?....Sounds like you need to get your ears checked..

I attended both of these shows. the show last week totally blows...The one in august will go down as one of the greatest metal shows of my life...that wall of death during Testament was glorious..:rocker::rocker::rocker:

get your eyes checked. I typed that I could only hear Kerry. I'm sure about that. I was at the far right side of the stage at both of those shows. When I have seen slayer from the middle it's a good mix, but when I'm in front of only one guitarist, all I can hear is that member's instrument.

Megadeth are just masters at what they do, they are like the Dream Theater of thrash metal. Of all the Big Four bands no one plays quite like Megadeth in my opinion. They are some of the best players out there and I think getting Chris Broderick was one of the best things Mustaine has ever done. Sounded like this was one hell of a show. I missed this tour sadly but caught Slayer/Megadeth/Testament in August and Megadeth/Testament/Exodus back in March, both of which were amazing. Hoping we get the Big Four in the USA next year. Anyone who got to see "Rattlehead" is sooo lucky. Just saw some footage on You Tube and it was killer. Great to see Kerry out there ripping it up with Dave.

I just picked up Megadeth's Rust in Peace live DVD which was recorded earlier this year and it is great. If you guys don't have it yet I highly recommend it.
