Got there as local band Crown the Lost was playing. This is the band that Jon Rice from (Blow)Job for a Cowboy played in before he joined them. I don't know what the hell genre you could call them, but I do know that I did not like it.

Yakuza was next and I think they played 3 (or 4?) songs. They seem like they have the potential for me to be interested in them, but it just didn't work.

Next was 1349 and they were pretty good. They would have been alot better if the guitars weren't all slushed together in the mix. I think they played the same set that they have been playing. They played for an hour. Also, Frost is a maniac. I shook his hand right as they finished, so I'm hoping maybe some of his percussive greatness will rub off on me.

And of course, Triptykon was next. Holy shit were they awesome. The set was the same, but we didn't get Descendant, which was somewhat of a disappointment, but I really can't complain. This was one of the heaviest and loudest shows I have ever witnessed. Tom Warrior commanded the stage like the god that he is. I was on the rail on the left side, right in front of Vanja the whole time (). Got the setlist off the stage at the end. Also picked up a copy of the new EP, and a poster.

Their set was:

Crucifixus (Intro)
Procreation (of the Wicked)
Goetia
Circle of the Tyrants
Abyss Within My Soul
The Usurper
Synagoga Satanae
The Prolonging
Winter (Outro)

There was a shockingly small amount of people at this show. It's actually the fewest I've ever seen at a show at Mr. Smalls, which kind of suprised/disappointed me, but oh well. I'm definitely hoping these guys return in the future, I would love to see them again.

I would love to see Triptykon live, that album is a perfect spin off/sequal to "Monotheist".

I was about 2 people down from you last night! Killer show, but the best part was staying after to talk to Tom, which began as a few of us just asking for some autographs and ended up being a 45 minute conversation about everything for touring, love, life, Celtic Frost, the future of Triptykon, and his legendary status. Tom's one of the nicest people I have ever met, musician or not.

Oh nice man, I kinda figured I'd see you around somewhere, but I just didn't know who it would be

Where'd you meet Tom at?

Yeah I was the tall guy with glasses that really didn't look like he belonged

My girlfriend's mother got us VIP tickets so we got to hang out with the band for about 20-30 minutes before the doors opened. I got to talk to V about the production of the album and Dark Fortress, whom he said it doesn't look likely that they'll ever come here....:bouville:

After the show we waited by the corner and Tom came out about 20 minutes after they were done. We got Norman's setlist and Tom signed it for us.

This tour sounds killer... I'm jealous of everybody that's going to it. Even though on the LA date 1349 is headlining, I would die to be able to go. Hopefully Triptykon will make it back here again within a couple years.

Oh, I think I might have been next to you while Triptykon was playing after some people left then. That's cool that you met him outside though, that's how I ended up meeting Enslaved when they played here with Opeth.

From listening to the new Yakuza album, here's their setlist:

Be That As It May
Stones and Bones
Farewell to the Fless
Good Riddance (Knuckle Warriors)

You and I definitely disagree about Yakuza. I thought they were fantastic.

They seem like they are something I could get into, I'm into wierd ass stuff like that, but for some reason they just didn't click with me. I'll probably give them a second chance one of these days.

She's incredibly nice though. I was surprised how much her demeanor off stage and on change. It's like two different people.

How many people? 100? 50?...

I'd probably say close to 175-250. There was a very large amount of people at the bar during Yakuza's and 1349's set. There were a hell of a lot less people at Fear Factory in June from what I hear.

there were quite a bit of people at the seattle show versus from what i heard at previous dates. and tom talked to the crowd for a bit and said "this is the most i've ever talked on this tour"
