Er, yeah! Big miss, manks.

Bury Me In Smoke by Down crushes live. It's not so heavy on record though.

There are a shit-ton of doom songs that are heavy as fuck.

I don't really listen to songs for their "heaviness" or "brutality". The only song on that list that I had heard/enjoyed was March of the Fire Ants.

By the way, if we're going to have this discussion, it should be noted that there is a huge difference between heavy and brutal. I think "heaviest" rules out pornogrind, slam, brutal death metal, and grindcore, and any related categories. That music is brutal. HEAVY is more of an atmosphere than a sound.

I agree, I don't think heavy and brutal are the same thing at all. That being said, grind isn't really brutal. Death metal is brutal. Grind is heavy.

God Hates Us All is your favorite Slayer album, so you have no reason to speak.

That would be Reign In Blood, actually. Also, your sig implies that you don't give a shit about Megadeth or Anthrax, so I wouldn't talk buddy, especially considering that you're defending one of Suicide Silence's worst songs (which is bad, considering they are a pretty lame band to begin with).

Oh you changed your mind? Or is it your 2nd favorite?

Yeah, you brought that up before. Not a fan of Anthrax personally, and Megadeth sucked live.
I think that's more respectable than liking a total shitfest like "God Hates Us All," but hey, that's just me.

Yeah, second favorite  I don't know man, I just love that album. Araya sounds so pissed off on it. Easily Slayer's most aggressive album, if you ask me. Very far from being a "total shitfest" to my ears.

The only thing that really sucks about Megadeth is Mustaine's vocals. He always has a solid band, though.

"Wake Up" just sounds retarded to me. I was never a fan of their vocalist (who probably attracts most of the scene kids) so it just comes off as sounding kind of stupid to me. The only song by them that I sort of like is "Unanswered."

It's all right, I forgive you. I can't really get into it but to be fair if I hadn't heard any of Slayer's other stuff I'd think it was decent.

And now that you mention it, I guess you're right. Mustaine's vocals are pretty atrocious. The rest of the band was fine.

"Wake up" is kind of retarded, but I think it's better than their total deathcore shit. "Unanswered" is not bad, though. Cool intro.

Bullshit. South of Heaven destroys God Hates Us All in terms of heaviness as well as in every other way. Hell, Mandatory Suicide alone beats out any of those songs that feature unimaginative riffing and out-dated hardcore vocals.

Because it's the same lame C-tuned riff over and over again. And it has way too many bad modern groove moments.

Well, the only Slayer record that is out and out thrash from start to finish is Reign In Blood. After that every other Slayer album features changes in pace, from groove elements to more doomy aspects. GHUA is a heavy, aggressive record, I don't care what anyone says. Its not nu metal (those who say that are aware they're comparing Slayer to stuff like Limp fucking Bizkit yes?) its not hardcore, its Slayer.

Oh of course it can. And define consistent? They feature thrash-beats through-out, yes, but neither of them are considered Slayers best work, according to MOST of Slayers fans.

And define how its 'nu-metal styled', because it doesn't sound like any of the bands of that movement at all.
