I saw the new BG album at FYE today and the sticker on the front of the CD said look for the band to be touring North America this fall.

Would love love love to see these guys. Something tells me Powerglove would be great candidates for a support band - which would be awesome.

The Jaxx is one of those places that are so close yet so far for me. However, if this tour is in 2011, I would heavily consider seeing them at the Jaxx. I can only see shows in Richmond for the rest of the year,

Hope there's something close. When they played Worcester last time, my ride bailed on me the night beforehand and I couldn't get another one, so I missed them.

either Imaginations from the Other Side or Nightfall in Middle Earth. those are the most popular two. i prefer Nightfall but Imaginations is a really strong album too

many people including myself have started out with Nightfall in the Middle Earth. others will say Imaginations From The Other Side is better but i'd go with NITME. if you want more of the speed metal side to them, check out Somewhere Far Beyond and Tales From The Twilight World.

Might try for Chicago. I'd really like to see BG live.

EDIT: I know my family wants to go on vacation this Christmas break too, so I might try to convince them to going to one of the general regions of those last four dates. Florida Powerfest in St. Pete sounds pretty cool, and very doable if we go to Orlando.

Twist in the Myth is a good album to start with. I haven't heard any of their albums before Nightfall in middle earth, but Twist in the myth and nightfall are good to start with. Even the new one is really good, and A Night at the Opera is another good album. Man, I need to go and check out their earlier stuff.

Also, Toronto date on a Friday at a venue that hopefully won't sell out too fast since it hold over 2,000 people. Fuck. to. the. yes.

A Twist in the Myth is the opposite of the album to start with in my opinion. It's about half good, half meh. Kinda going through the motions on that one.

Nightfall in Middle-Earth all the way.

EDIT: That being said about Twist, "This Will Never End" is definitely one of their best songs.

About the Blind Guardian albums...

A Twist in the Myth was the first one I ever bought, and I loved it. Then I bought Imaginations From the Other Side and that changed my life. Imaginations is an amazing record.

Anyways, my point is, if you like A Twist in the Myth, you'll love their older stuff.

holy shit is this true? LITTH is one of my favorite BG songs ever. a bit heavy on Tales From The Twilight World though but awesome nonetheless. i'd take out maybe Ashes To Ashes and throw in Somewhere Far Beyond. i'm looking forward to seeing the setlist.

idk i just found the interview and people mentioning it ont he BG forum. so im assuming its true. i rather take out Goodbye My Friend for SFB cus i love Ashes to Ashes. plus im assuming they will not be playing all of these songs each night, will just be a rotation. praying at least 2 of these are main stays have permanent spots on the tour though, esp Curse

Personally I'd really love songs like:

Lord of the Rings
And the Story Ends
Another Holy War
Somewhere Far Beyond
Lost in the Twilight Hall
Traveler in Time

And from the new album, these are the songs I want to see:
Sacred Worlds, Road of No Release, A Voice in the Dark, Wheel of Time. Ride Into Obsession and Curse My Name would be great too.

they played those first two songs when i saw them back in 2006 so im kinda hoping they dont play them again. the other 4 i definitely agree with you though. even though SFB is a big long shot...least Another Holy War is somewhat likely with them playing it in the festivals last year.

I'm thinking of making it a full Blind Guardian weekend since NYC is a Saturday and Worcester is on a Sunday (i have my parents place to crash at and then back to New England) which maximizes their set list rotation.

My current dilemma is whether to buy the NYC ticket online and suffer the convenience fees, or wait until I'm at the theater seeing Iced Earth and buy the ticket then. I am leaning towards the latter, but assumes availability a week after tickets go on sale.
